He rocks doesn't he! A very talented artisit indead. I look forward to my new design.
  2. Hi and welcome to the forums. Good on you for doing some research before buying a cage! Looks okay... I'd want to check the bar spacing too though. The only thing I see as an issue, is you'll still have to open the door to feed them, and do things inside the cage. I notice there is a small door and large door... but if they want to get out, they will. You'd need to consider some thing so they can't escape, or wheel them inside when you need to access the inside of the cage. My opinions only.
  3. I'm pretty sure they'll be okay... My girls have a herb garden too. They love to get into the herbs I put in their cage. I hope Molly likes them too.

I thought it would be fun for those of you who have tattoos, to share photos here. Everyone is individual when it comes to them... some like them some hate them. I'll start off. I got my first tattoo done about 8 years ago... I wanted an Echidna, so took my ideas to a local trusted place and got it designed... It's on my lower back. It started off as just the Echidna, the grass and the ground below it... when I went back to get it re-touched, we added the extra ground, rocks, grass and ANTS!!! Then I decided I really wanted to get a frog on my shoulder... BUT I was due to be in my sisters wedding in 2003, so I waited. Again, my tattoo artist drew this cute guy for me. I'm planning on getting some 'sticky' footprints leading up t where this guy is sitting in the near future. Then... I kind of went off the idea of tattoos for awhile. I was happy with what I had, and couldn't afford anymore at the time... Recently I thought about getting some more. I am planning on getting one around my left ankle. I want Eucalyptus/Gum branch around my ankle, with a couple of red flowers and some gum nuts. I went into the shop today and saw my guy. I gave him a description and he's excited to draw up some ideas... YAH!!! BUT while I was in there, I got another one done . So, that's my lot for now. I'm hoping to get my ankle one in the next few months. I'm turning 30 in April and was hoping to convince my family to give me money for it... but that won't happen (They hate them)... so I might just wait until we get our Government stimulus money! So... feel free to share yours... I'd love to see them! Just remember that people of all ages view this forum, so if it's not suitable for everyone, or in a spot unsuitable for everyone, please don't post it or it will be removed.
  5. As hard as it seems, you have to not react when she bites you. If you pull your finger away/react when she does it, she will continue to do it. I know it hurts, believe me, but try not to move your finger. I have a hen in my aviary, who bites so hard and draws blood every time. When she used to bite I'd let her go.. she then learnt that if she bites I'll leave her alone. Now when I need to handle her, when she bites, I move my hand/adjust the way I'm holding her... she doesn't get her own way and I won't let her go until I've finished. So... you best bet is to keep doing what you are doing... hopefully it's hormonal/moulting as others have said... and it will pass.
  6. My GUESS would be girl too... but not real confident. A cutie too!
  7. I breed when the birds are in tip top condition- heath and breeding wise... and NEVER more than twice in a row without a rest. You also have to be careful of weather conditions... unless you have a temperature controlled breeding room. Extreme heat and cool can cause deaths.

lol... my birds used to do it to my cat too!!! Even with two pairs you can have awful problems. Good luck with them.
  9. You have a lovely assortment of budgies... welcome and I hope you enjoy yourself here and feel very welcome.

Agree... maybe she's not up to another one... I'd give her a break.
  11. Agree with Kaz... I would leave it unless it becomes an issue.
  12. Just keep a close eye on them. When you move two animals in together, regardless of what they are... when one of them 'owns' the house/cage etc... there can be trouble. Watch for trouble and be ready to make changes if needed. It might be a good idea to re-arrange the whole cage with new perches and toys... that way it would seem a little less familiar to Lemon. Good luck with them and please keep us updated.
  13. Congratulations! Cute photo... and I love the reclining one under yours too...
  14. He is so cute! Especially snuggled up to his teddy in his box (when I saw him Saturday) I'd definitely have trouble parting with him. Do keep us updated with him and his progress.
  15. Great news luv!!! So very happy for you and can't wait to hear all about it!

You are on the bus when you suddenly realize ... you need to fart. The music is really loud, so you time your farts with the beat. After a couple of songs, you start to feel better as you approach your stop. As you are leaving the bus, people are really staring you down, and that's when you remember: you've been listening to your ipod
  17. NO WAY!!! That cage is horrible!
  18. Will do! Happy to help where I can.
  19. Good work... Some suggestions from an experienced application writer... I'd also remove this part/re-word it: I only have personal experience with birds, I am hoping that will be enough. You can mention that you have experience with birds, but I wouldn't mention that you ONLY have experience with them... and you hope it's enough... Agree with MB suggestions. Using key words is a must. Also, go through the job advertisement... if they mention certain words, explain how you are 'that word' eg. 'we need someone who is responsible and trustworthy' ...If I was applying for that job, I would write... ' During my work at ****** I have proven to be both responsible and very trustworthy. Not only have I worked on registers handling money, I was also given the duty of opening and closing the business on a regular basis...' If you can include what they ask for, and give examples of how you have shown that in your previous work history, school years (if you're young) and/or personal life, it shows you have paid attention to what they want/need, and have thought about why you would be suitable... It's also great to say things like... I believe I would be the best person for the job because... I would be an asset to your business because...
  20. It's great to hear from you, and I'm glad Charlie is going well.
  21. Agreed... what a cute fellow!
  22. Awwww... they are just delicious!!! Thanks so much for the updates. Are you keeping any?
  23. I can only imagine... burns are very painful. I am unable to give blood, but thanks for reminding us that we can do that too!
  24. I heard on the news that they have a need for toiletries, shoes etc... (I can't remember what else they said?) Will PM you Kaz...
