  1. My Granny passed away this morning. She is now at peace and with her beloved husband. Her funeral in on Fri.
  2. Do you cover her cage at night? If so increase dark hours to 12ish... this can reduce the need to lay. I'd also get a calcium suppliment and add it to her water. They will help replenish what she's has lost.

Hi and welcome to the forums. Just because 1 was on top of the other, doesn't always mean you have a female... if you can post some close up photos of them, we can help you with their sex. Again, welcome...
  4. This is a photo of my late grandpa and my nephew, going down to collect the eggs on the farm... I want to see a photo with red socks

  15. Any more pictures of the little darling???
  16. Thanks guys... Her morphin dosage has been increased, she feels no pain and spends her days sleeping. Her four kids (including my Mum) have a roster system going and they sit with her a read etc... as she doesn't speak much anymore. She's aware they are there I think, but yeah. I'm trying to stay busy, and keep my mind of it, while at the same time preparing for what is comming. I'm so tired, but can only imagine how they all must be doing up there with her...
  17. The key with any kind of training, is to keep the sessions short and end them before they get impatient/bored. Over time, you increase the length of time. If they don't go for long and your budgie (or what ever animal you are training) gets to go back to their 'home' or gets free time... all positive, you'll get better results in the long run.
  18. ive heard somewhere that during breeding a hens cere can get rusty They are meant to be brown, but when they crust up and flake off I 'THINK' they are no longer in the best condition. Don't quote me on it... not 100% sure and am definately no expert!
  19. Is the brown on Cindy's cere flaking off? She looks a little past breeding condition???

Hi and welcome. I wish you luck in your future breeding and am all for Cabinet breeding over colony 100%.
  21. Thanks everyone... Yesterday she had a good day, sat up and had a cuppa, but today was a bad day. The ups and downs are so draining...
  22. My Granny, who lost her dearly beloved husband in Sept last year, is now nearing the end of her own battle with cancer. She went into care a little over a month ago for a 'rest' for two weeks, and then went home. She soon went back and has stayed ever since. She no longer gets out of bed, has a catheter in and sleeps a lot. She's still 'with it' which is a blessing, and has no pain (thanks to a morphine drip), but it's not 'Granny'. Although It pains me to think about loosing her, I am praying that she passes quickly and can be re-united with my Grandpa. I saw her a few weeks ago and Mum and Dad were up there yesterday. Dad has since come home but Mum has stayed there, so all her kids are together with her. Please keep them all in your thoughts.
  23. Awww, yah!!! I was all ready to say 'sorry for not getting it'... but now I can congrats!
  24. WOW WOW WOW Very cool!!! Your birds will love it. Here is Australia, we recommend having the roof of the aviary covered with clear laserlight (plastic roofing). This is because we have many wild birds that can poo into our avairies. They spread disease and cause illness and death. I'm not sure if you have similar issues, but it might be worth thinking about it... What are you planning on putting on the ground? I see you mention field mice... if they are anything like our mice here is Aus, they'll burrow under the walls, even the extended pieces you have... If your wire is mice proof, you could lay it on the ground and cover it with something... or you could lay concrete??? Just some thoughts. You have very talented builders and are an EXCELLENT LEADER!!!
  25. Any Tequila updates birdluv???
