I've Started Conversion To Pellets
I hate pellets... so won't go there. Getting him to exercise, will he 'play' with you? Chase things if you pull them around? You could try and set up an area, table/bed and get him running/waddling around? Any movement will help him. Also had a thought re food. I know my birds used to eat when I ate, if this is the case with your boys, maybe remove their seed during your meal times, so they eat their greens instead.

Skipper's Going Through The Nibbly Stage
YAH!!! They are quick learners. When he tries to go back on your shoulder when you take him down, take him down again, put him down somewhere and walk away. You may need to leave the room as you say, or just go where he can't reach you. Kind of like turning away from a jumping dog with your arms crossed. Give him a minute or two, and go back. I'm so pleased it's working and good luck!

Skipper's Going Through The Nibbly Stage
You're going to have to be strong here... When he bites I would say NO, and then pick him up and put him in his cage. Give him time... 5-10mins and then let him out again... repeat and continue. If he enjoys spending time with you, he will soon learn that biting = cage. Another thought... does he bite you when he's not on your shoulder? If not, do not allow him on there. Being that high up and next to you can make him see himself as an equal, and then do what he pleases... maybe if this is the case, take him off your shoulder when he gets up there... I know how much it hurts, but by reacting he is also getting a reation. Try not to pull your finger away. Good luck and keep us updated.

Hot Days Are With Us Already!
So true GB... There is only so much you can do when Mother nature turns nasty. It does come down to survival of the fittest, and as hard as it is, you just have to go with it.

Is This A Good Cage To Buy For 2 Budgies?
okay thanks, do i need to join up first? is a big bar spacing dangerous for the birds? why does it have to be 12cm? If it's too big they can get out, or they can get stuck in the bars and die! If they try and tell you it's fine for budgies ask them for exact measurements... also ask if their are any section with wider bar spacing, esp near doors and corners, and ask for those too. Also remember, they want to sell this cage to you and some people will say anything! I personally havn't bought from them so can't personally comment. Good luck

What Is Your Definition Of A Bird Mill ?
What is happening to you Kaz is exactly why I never joined up to places like Yahoo answers. Let me see if I can put it nicely... this could be hard. Yahoo answers and alike are 99% made up by immature minds who have nothing better to do with their time than to post bullshit answers, give bad reviews to those who actually have half a brain and are trying to educate, and cause trouble by shooting their mouth off. The things I have read on there, most can not even be true... so that being said most of the questions were probably pulled out of some spoon fed wa***r's ****!!! This young piece of work (yes, she is young) is getting an enormous amount of joy and pleasure out of harrassing someone who they know absolutely NOTHING about. I mean really... they are probably not even young or female, live in the US, or would even know what a budgie was if if flew up and bit them in the ****!!! Just to clarify... I have nothing against the young people of today... except when they shoot their mouths off. If the 'person' was an actual expert, join a real forum... you may actually learn something and then you could help educate someone... Yahoo answers is a poor excuse for a forum!!! To those of you who actually have an account with Yahoo, educate where you can and have brought members over here... good on you. I wish I had the energy and mind to tolerate it's ****. So, finally my dearest Kaz... You have sent the email on to the powers that be... now as you have said... ignore. She's waiting for you to react... she is young and will get bored soon and move on when you don't bite back on the forum. I'd keep posting as you normally do too, so she see's you're not posting to get browny points or make friends... you have plenty of them here! You answer there to 'try' and educate to anyone willing to listen.

What Your Mods And Staff Do Around Here
A friendly ... wanted to also add that we also have 'real' jobs and families. We don't just sit on the computer all day waiting for things to do. Life also gets tough at times... and we are all human! Also, sometimes the things done around here may not be understood, or taken as a personal dig. This is not the case. Many of us have been around here longer than many members. We know how things go and where they can end up if things go astray. On top of all of this, all staff can be contacted via PM if issues arrise. We don't bite and are here to help.

My Plans For My Aviary
AGREED!!! Not only do pictures make it more enjoyable to follow, they help others who are/want to build their own avairy as well... The only limit to the number of photos you can post... is how many the forum will allow... then you just wait till someone else replies and post more

Cats
There may be some herbs which they don't like... maybe do a search of cat deterant plants. I'd also get some traps. Once caught, you drop them off at the animal shelter, and do it again. The owners will soon learn. May take time though. Good luck.

Painting A Nest Box

Off On A Holiday With The Little One
I agree... Maybe you could park it down the road in the shade and bring it up just before you leave to pack it etc... then it may not heat up too much.

Off On A Holiday With The Little One
Is there any tree's near by you could park under? Or do your neighbours have a carport? If not, I'd probably load the car up with everything, and then go for a drive around just to get the air con going and reduce them temperature a little. I know when I get in my car after work and it's been hot, it's horrible!!! I do mist my birds at home, but I worry in your case that you mist him, and then the car cools down with the air con... he may be still wet and get a chill. I'd hate for him to be sick while you're away.

Budgie Eggs Hatching
Hi and welcome... Budgies will breed if they feel the conditions are suitable and of they have somewhere to nest. It sounds like you look after them well, so plenty of food and water and light. You also added a nest box which created 'somewhere' to nest. If you were to leave the nest box in the cage, they'll continue to breed, regardless of the 'month or season'. Due to the age of your hen, my personal suggestion would be to let her finish raising her chick (and second one if it hatches and survives) and then I would remove the nest box. Sometimes they do lay eggs of the perch, but this will stop and you disgard them. I'd remove the other male (if not already done), maybe he could live with his female friend. If you were interested in breeding, which can be wonderful if done correctly (although things do go wrong even for the most experienced), I'd look at getting some younger birds. They must be over 12mths to breed though. Please don't beat yourself up. You seeked advice but were just given the wrong ones. We also all started somewhere. This forum is brilliant and I have leant so much here. Good luck, ask anything you need, and please keep us updated.

What Sex Are These Budgie's
Hi and welcome. Sexing budgies via the internet can be hard, but to do so we need CLEAR photos of the cere without flash. I can't comfortably guess with any of those photos above. Perhaps you could take some more photos.
