Yep, Dottie is definately older then 4 months as she has a very white forhead with no bars. She very cute though. What did they tell you about Zeus. I'm only guessing on sex as picture isn't real close or clear. I can kinda see white around the nostrils... which means female, but I'm definately NO EXPERT!!! :budgiedance: I love them both though...

Dottie- a beautiful Hen but not really young... Zeus- another beautiful hen/cock (I'm leaning towards hen). Quite young and very sweet. A great buy. Make sure you keep them away from your other birds for atleast 30 (5m or another room). You wouldn't want your birds to get sick from your newbies.

Nice! What's in that roof bit??? Or do the birds just get access to it through the normal section and peek out the top? :budgiedance:

  5. Love it Nick Nack. It should become an offical BBC word. We'll have to add it to the family dictionary...
  6. No worries ...I'm glad I could be of some assistance.--- A cat has a litter of kittens, a dog has a litter of puppies... where as a budgie has a clutch of eggs. ---
  7. no, jill has had a few litters The term for budgies laying eggs is clutches... We're all learning here! It all sounds very exciting for you.

  11. I bought rings from my local pet shop (a good one if there is such a thing). I used them to help me identify between clutches as my babies were different shades of grey/blue. It helped me tell the difference, esp when they were little and I was naive :hap: Maybe that's why the rings were put on and not so much for record keeping.
  12. 'Houdini'... cute!!!
  13. I used to do that too Kaz... untill a family of huntsmen decided to move in :hap: Needless to say it was gone quick smart and I'll be forever greatful to my Dad for doing the job!!!

  20. Brilliant!!! My family is the same... although when I do get home from work my Mum has to tell me about what the birds did or said when I was away!!! . I know this place is great as I don't feel guilty bragging about my birds on here as I know no one is rolling their eyes as I speak (hopefully :hap: ) okay... back to you. That is a great first step in under a week. Remember to work at her pace and do what she wants to do. How long is your millet? Try making it shorter over time... then she'll have to step on your hand to eat it (when you think she's ready though) I'm really pleased for you and look forward for regular updates and milestones... YAH FOR TRILBY

:hap: Thats it My other number if that one is busy is 1800 IN TOO DEEP hahaha You could also wear super sized gum boots so you can just slip your feet out and leave them stuck in the middle of the floor - they could make nice nesting sites or mouse free feeders - (Laughing out loud) :hap: ... Good one. I like the new feeder/nesting boot idea aswell. What would I do without you?!?!
