  1. Your pictures are great. Your birds are all very cute. You should enter one of your budgie pics in April budgie of the month, and the one of Harry in the Feathered friend of the month! Your Harry looks like my Bert(ie), but I think my girl has a little more yellow around the face... sweet as!!!
  2. Maybe libby it's so nervous it feels ill about mating, that while asleep it laid an egg! :(Laughing out loud): :hap: :hap: :hap:
  3. I'm glad today was much better for you! I love your vet updates... they're really interesting. Have an awsome day tomorrow at your brothers wedding and I hope you get to have some 'down' time over the holidays.

Relax! (Laughing out loud)... They'll all be fine. Charlie will prob have her knickers in a knot when you take her out, esp as her hubby wont be going with her. Try putting seed on the bottom of the breeding cage, as well as some millet and finely chopped veggies. This will hopefully encourage Gracy Lou to eat on her own. The quicker this happens, the quicker you can get dad back with mum, and hopefully things will begin to settle down. When Gracy Lou gets older, will she be housed with her parents? If so, it will be interesting to see how that goes... Good Luck, have yourself a drink or two... and relax... (((hugs))) for the fretting mother

Good idea. I have all my seed in plastic containers, and just bought some more last weekend since the mouse invasion. In my clean up tomorrow, everything will be put into containers! Only one week till your avairy!!! exciting...
  8. Happy hunting! I look forward to the pics.
  9. Him flapping his wings sounds like an improvement. I guess it's just something that will take time, and if he's going to have some permanent 'disablilty', it will take him time to get used to what he now can and can't do. It sounds like you are looking after him very well. Keep it up, and if he looks to be going backwards...head off to the avian vet.

Yep, agree with Feathers. If Dad is already looking after her, I'd remove mum and give dad the sole parenting duties. I'm sure she'll settle down once the nest box is gone and little Gracy Lou has grown up a little and isn't dependant on her. Just read Throwbacks post. You could try that also! Good Luck and keep us updated on them all.
  11. Great advice Deb, I think I'll try some of your ideas. It sounds like your son is doing really well with his speech, well done.
  12. They are looking really good and very sweet. It seems all the parents are doing a good job thus far, and I'm pleased Humphrey will get another go at making babies in Dec.
  13. I'm glad you've had some great news for a change... a budgie trophy, car photo shoot and article... very nice! You'll have to post the article and pics when it's done...dusk photos in a cemetary... spooky ...

Thanks for that photo Feathers! Well done :(Laughing out loud): ... they look delish. It looks like my mouse problem is under control. We have caught three in total, and this weekend I'll be cleaning and filling holes. I'll still have traps set up, but It looks good thus far. And DEB... I know what you mean. I hadn't had mice for over a year until Kaz was telling Jimmy how to avoid getting mice in the avairy he wants to build... and wella... mice!!!

Sorry to hear about your Dad. Hopefully moving your birds outside will help his health. Reading through the Aviaries section of this forum may give you some good tips, as well as Daz's Topic as suggested. Good luck on your idea search, and I look forward to your plans.
