Vet Trip For My New Bird Sky
That is just horrible. Makes me feel sick! Bless you for taking this little hen on. It sounds like you will have a very busy few months ahead of you. I hope she continues to get better and your other budgies don't get sick. I'm not sure about the medical side of it, so I'll leave it to the others. You are an angel and hopefully when she makes a full recovery she will be able to become a very special member of your birdy family. Hugs to you and this sweet little darling! Good luck and please keep us updated.

So Not Happy Jan!
Well... I'm so tired!!! I was on the phone to my sister untill 11pm last night. She's great. Her husband (bless him) was on the internet at the same time. We did our research. It is not law for them to supply me with a phone line. The contract I signed never said I would have one, nor did it state I wouldn't. I'm putting it down to a) my real estate agent either didn't know there wasn't one or forgot to tell me (she's new, and I've never rented before and didn't ask the right questions... after long discussion on here, with my family, the agents and consumer afairs, I have decided I will get the connection done and pay for it myself. I would feel more comfortable having a landline, and it means I can spend hours on the phone to my family if needed . I have contacted telstra, and as far as I know, putting in a new line shouldn't be to hard. If other units in the block have phones, it should be easy, if not they may have to dig a little... but the landlord should realise he is getting this for free so it should be okay. I'm about to email my agent and let her know the details... hopefully I can get the go ahead from her and just do it. I could have taken this further and kicked up a real fuss, but I can't be bothered. I like the unit, its location and dont want to get off on the wrong foot. If all goes well and I stay there for awhile, It will pay for itself... and when it comes down to it... its only money. So, thanks everyone for your advice, guidence and simply williness to listen to me winge!!! You guys rock!

Bird Room/breeding Room?
Um... I vote NO for a cubby house!!! (sorry Abby ). Recently Dave bought some breeding/holding cages with stands off the internet. JJ Aviaries I'm not sure what the deal is with postage, but I'm sure something could be arranged... or check Ebay (I love that place). Good luck with it all. I'm so excited for you

Spike, Hi I Am New
Hi and welcome. Spike sounds wonderful. I'd love to see a photo of him. Check out my signature for instructions on how to do it. You are doing so well with him and I hope things continue to go this way. Most budgies with a disability manage to work around it and deal with things their own way. I'm sure Spike will be fine

Rats Again
... Good luck on the remainder of your hunt. Lets hope you get the babies before they re-populate themselves! When I had mice in my aviary, we had a hose down the hole and filled it with water. Nothing came out, but I imagine this would work if they were down there. I'd try this over poison.
