  1. Sounds more like an Aussie Budgie!!! A pie eating Budgie... I love it!
  2. I hope you find some, and these questions are NEVER crazy... You never know who else might be thinking the same thing but not willing to ask. That is how we ALL learn!!!
  3. What a sweet budgie. It takes time and with that and a lot of patience, you'll get there and it will be soooooooo worth it in the end. Good Luck!
  4. News Deb? I hope it went well and you have got some sort or treatment sorted out to help the poor guy. Good luck and (((((hugs)))))) Maesie xoxo
  5. I'm the same and was kind of scared also. It didn't help that he was squarking his head off with blue murder!!! lol... You might have yourself a new career Jenene... "clipper to the infertile and sexually frustrated" :budgiedance:
  6. I had almost given up on him as no matter what hen I paired him up with all the eggs were clear. I put him out in the aviary and intended just to keep him as a pet. But he is such a lovely bird I decided to try him one last time. I clipped his vent and paired him up with a nice hen. I candled the eggs this afternoon and 2 out of the 3 eggs are fertile.Cannot wait till they hatch!!! That's just awsome. I did the same with Tweet Tweet. His last clutch with Crackle was also empty, but a quick clip with the scissors... and well ahhhhh

Oh Deb, she is looking fantastic. You are doing a great job, keep it up luv! And her colour... just divine!!!
  9. So very excited for you!!!!!!!!! Yah for you and the happy parents.
  10. Well, got home from work to find a surprise in the bottom of the cage.......... Baby number one!!! I don't know how long it had been there, and whether it chose to come out or was pushed, but it was quite happy to go back when I returned it... So, I now have a KAZ 'igloo' on the floor of the cage and we'll see how they go. The oldest one is 25 days today and the youngest is 19 days old. mmm, they grow up so quickly!
  11. Not just a pretty face Dave . Good thinking 99!!! lol. I like that idea. Thanks for the offer Kaz, but to save you the hassle, I'll do the right and left leg thing... Norm, I have used split rings in my last two clutches and havn't had any probems with them. I'll try them and see how they go. Thanks all!
  12. If you've been following my post on Crackle and Tweet Tweet babies, you'll know I have 5 identical opaline babies... I don't plan on keeping them all, but I'd like to be able to tell them apart. I have green and red split rings, but am having trouble getting any more around here. As I already have two colours, I only need two more as one could be 'un ringed'... Can anyone help. Last time I looked they didn't have any at our local supply place, and I can only get them in packs of 10 and all in one colour. If any one can assist, I'd be happy to pay for them and postage. Please PM me and I'll get back to you. I'm still not 'connected' at the unt yet, but am checking in every few days so bare with me... Thanks in advance... Maesie xoxo
  13. Awwwww, just to cute Jenene!!! :bluebudgie:
  14. Thanks all and yeah, I'm going to have to do the coloured split rings... the only way I can tell some of them apart now, is their lack of feathers etc... but it won't be this easy for to much longer. I'm keeping 3 or 4. One will go to the elderly couple who live over the road from Mum and Dad. They lost their budgie last year, and another MIGHT go to Mum's best friend. She used to have one of my budgies, but he died from a stroke last year too. I haven't had a chance to find out if she wants one yet. Then if I'm able to keep any at the flat, I'll keep two there, and the last one will either go back to aviary at home with Crackle and Tweet Tweet, or I may have to squeeze it in at the flat... If they can't stay with me, they'll all go back to the aviary. As for names... :bluebudgie: . Depends on their sex... If I get and keep two boys... I'm thinking at this stage, Carson and Thom (***** Eye for the Straight Guy I love that show), but not 100% sure yet.

Looks great!!! They look like they have plenty of room and I bet they love their 'rain' showers!!! Well done. I hope you and Benny are keeping well... Nice to hear from you
  16. C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S ! ! ! ! Well done and what a cute photo!
  17. WARNING, WARNING... very cute pictures ahead!!! lol Well, the babies are growing up very nicely and it looks like they'll all be the same as Dad and opalines... Below are some pictures I took yesterday. There are some group shots, the back of the oldest chick, and then a 'portrait' shot of each baby. They are very hard to tell apart and I'm guessing it is only going to get harder. Back to bed... "MUM... please shut the door!!!"

If he is already sitting on your shoulder, it shouldn't take long for him to warm to you further. Good luck and I look forward to getting to know you both! ... the named and nameless!!!
