  1. That's what I was thinking. The youngest one is only 4 weeks old anyway, and no of them will be going to my aviary or new homes until they are well and truely ready, so there is plenty of time. Thanks for your help luv!
  2. Thanks Nerwen... The shape of B and D seem different and the colour also, where as a, c and e all seemed similar also. It's so hard! Thanks Libby! Not only are my bubs hard to tell apart, they are hard to sex as well! Lets hope they're not hard to tame
  3. Very nice Sunnie... "One of these things is not like the other, one of these things just doesn't belong, can you tell me which one is not like the other by the time I finish this song..." (was on a sesame street cassette we used to listen to as kids)
  4. Nice pair, Good Luck Kaz

Try doing what you are doing, but if he loves his ball or even millet, have that in your hand also... he might come for them, and in time, you should be able to just call him

  11. Vitamin drops such as soluvet plus: Yes, If left will produce nasty bacteria. You need to sterilise the drinkers and only give your budgies it in the water for max 2 days. I would say only make up enough for 12-24 hours. Not 2 days!

I agree Elly, NEVER!!! She's adorable.
  13. I wasn't going to give my opinion because it was different LOL..Neat this would be a great competition having us sex young birds and then seeing who is right. Anyways here are my guess. A. Male (i say that because even though the nasals are white they look like they have a purple tinge and the cere looks more bulbeous) B. Female (looks like a pale pink tan) C. Female D & E I say are both males. Oh Elly! I do that too sometimes!!! lol. Thanks for your guesses. These guys are hard. Every time I look at the pictures and the bubs themselves, the look different. Since I won't be clipping for another few weeks (thanks all), hopefully we'll know for sure by then!
  14. Thank you my lovely ladies Much appreciated!!!
  15. As most of you know, I have a 'lovely bunch of opalines' and I'm planning on keep two as inside budgies. In my other thread The clutch of winter '08, I'm hoping to get some confirmation of the sex of these little guys. If I am correct, I have at least 2 males. If this is the case, I'll be having them inside and want to clip them (I have read a lot about it and am happy with my decission) I'll be taking them to my avian vet to get her to do them and learn myself. My question is this... at what age should they be clipped? I handle all of the bubs daily but they are now at the stage where you can't let them go or they'll fly or attempt to fly away. I'd like them to be able to learn to fly before I clip them. I do have a back room which I hope to clean and bird proof tomorrow and then I can let the bubs use their wings. As two of them will be going to new owners and one to my aviary, I want to be sure about their sex before I clip them (esp with the aviary bird). The youngest bub is 1 month old.

  20. It all depends on how your birds eat. I have similar ones to that, and they still have husks on top as the birds pick up the seeds, eat them and drop the left overs right on top... I have to manually scoop out the husks...
  21. :hap: :hap:
  22. Thanks Deb... they are doing really well. Thanks Liv. e) didn't want to sit still and the sun was fading!!! lol... I'm really hoping those two are boys, as I'm loving the names 'Harry and Lionel'. Thanks for your help!
