Some (iris ring) wise are verging on the boundary of under developed, but i understand they are kept inside, which can delay iris ring development a little. The three i pointed out are more than just delayed, they are well under developed. The first one has very underdeveloped iris rings for 12 months old, so would suggest that the rest of its body is also under developed and needs more time to mature.

While away in WA last month, my birds were under the care of family. Unfortunately this little baby happened to get food caught inside his beak and it has permanently deformed it. His upper beak sits inside the lower beak, and because he is unable to grind his beak into shape like normal, i have to trim it every few days. Today i decided while putting his siblings in the kindy cage, that he will not thrive in the aviary and will make his frequent beak trims harder. So he has joined me inside as a pet. i understand that i have clipped his wings early (i dont normally do it before 9 weeks) , it is for his own safty as our back door is always open and i couldnt bare him flying away so anyway, enough rambaling.... here he is Sleeping amongst the dirty dishes Busted!! hehe This picture gives an idea of his beak Any name ideas would help a lot

Stinky poo is a sign of a tummy bug. they have eaten soiled food, soiled water or sour seed. The diarrhea needs to be taken care of promptly. Treat with one of the following: Calcivet (liquid calcium) in their water according to the bottle. Sulfa meds: drops direct to beak as directed on bottle raspburry cordial (20+ pure raspberry) 10ml in 250ml water daily.

The birds are too young then. Best toss the eggs and remove the boxes. Budgies need to be 12 months old before breeding otherwise they run into all sorts of problems.

Its all but done. It has been a real fiddly headache to paint. Still to add is the perches, drinker and the little safety latch on the door. i don't know how people dont go nuts when they make many of them - i guess it gets easier with practice :rofl:

Dark brown and crusty is too far past ideal breeding condition. light tan is perfect for breeding. Hens come and go from condition and they all seem to be different. i have not noticed a pattern at all. some are always in condition, others are only in condition when they are given a nest box.

This one has scaly face and needs treatment. s/he also looks to be unwell. i can see a poopy vent and a fluffed appearance. This one needs to visit an avian vet asap Cock as you know They are really nice birds. If there is a nesting box in there, please remove it for now. they are not ready to breed.

I am a member of NEBS and am about to join BSSA too (where Sunnie goes) . There is a NEBS meeting on this Wednesday at the Kilburn Hall, Le Hunte St, Kilburn at 8pm. I will be there if you want to come along - they are very friendly.
