  2. AWWWWWWWWWwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww Looks like he will be right at home
  3. I agree, Fungilin is a VERY effective treatment.

you have very nice birds and some very impressive babies :bluebudgie:
  5. No, that is not correct. I have just bought 100ml of Fungilin for $75.00 which you add to their drinking water at a rate of 1ml/100ml for 7 days. I give each of my 3 aviaries 200ml of treated water every day for the 7 days. That equates to 42ml total. I agree with Renee I am so pleased that Levi is getting better :bluebudgie:
  6. I know he will be very spoilt at your place Hills
  7. cool. will do that
  8. That is an awesome set up!! Well done I could imagine the amount of mess they all make too :party0011: I love the idea for the rope perches. Just make sure there is at least 1 very sturdy perch in there for mating as if the hen wobbles too much the mating may not complete successfully. Your tiel setup looks good to me. The bigger the better, but there looks like there is a nice amount of room for them.
  9. 45 days (6 weeks)
  10. Its not doxy, I am using Chlortetracycline which does the same as doxy, but can be bought without prescription. (for anyone who doesn't know, i am treating all the 19 new birds from WA with antibiotics to ensure there are no Psittacosis carriers amongst them, as they came from many different places and breeders. If one is a carrier, they could kill all the others very quickly with the disease. Under normal quarantine conditions, all birds from different places are to be quarantined in separate cages. This was not possible in my case because of air travel etc. ) I like the idea of giving a day off with greens etc. (i hate antibiotics and i feel bad every day i give it to them)
  11. What is a good pro biotic to use after/during antibiotic use?? I want to give something to my show birds as i am worried about damaging their gizzard with the antibiotics. They are 3 weeks through their treatment and have 3 weeks to go.
  12. Here are mine
  13. Charlie is a great name. My pied tiel is called Sammy and i am pretty sure she is hen, but either way it doesn't matter with a unisex name
  14. All by birds in breeding cabinets or in holding cages all rip the paper to shreds. Shame printed office paper is not safe as they would do a great job at shredding sensitive documents
  15. haha OPPS - I'm too budgie minded... i automatically read it as budgie haha
  16. So the goal is, markings of not too dark, but not too light - got it
  17. I have never heard of any ones budgie getting sick from eating news paper. Never give pages with lots of colored ink, and never give glossy paper... otherwise, regular newspaper is fine
  18. Don't worry, chickens are as close to budgies as humans are to Cows - Birds can eat birds, like mammals eat mammals and reptiles eat reptiles. So unless your budgies are eating budgies there is no cannibalism there

He is a real cutie - they are great photos!! (looks like you have the same laptop as me too )
  20. Hello and welcome Thats a noise mostly made by hens, its quite normal and its just their "bossy" sound. They normally do it when there is something they dont like or if they are feeling intimidated. They also do it as a part of their play and communication. Its completely normal and nothing to worry about
  21. He or she will look like a hen until the first moult at 6 months of age. You could sex it by watching the behaviour closely... Boys tend to sing Also its a pied (one of the hardest to sex) Very nice tiel I like the name "patch" or "freckles"
  22. Aries - more accurate that i will admit to
  23. okay, great to know thanks Daz and Splat. :thankyou:
  24. Are the dark wing markings not desirable?
  25. I have always liked his markings. At the moment he had 2 rounds with a green cinnamon hen and has produced normals, opaline spangles and spangles. babies range from blue, green to grey green. So he must be split for opaline too along with the hen who is split for blue....
