Does the budgie have an ID ring on it's leg ? If so you may want to get in touch with the state Budgie club to try and track the owner.

Thats the beauty of budgies, they come in so many different colours and varieties.

Some really nice birds you have there KAZ. Pitty I'm too far away to buy some of your culls as they would add to my birds features nicely. (I have to get up off my lazy butt & post some pictures one day)

The problem with colony breeding arises when two hens want the same breeding box. Usually the one positioned the highest. The best deterent is Kaz's suggestion. If you cannot do this then make sure you have 2 nest boxes for each Hen all positioned at the same height.

I heard about the liquid paper trick. KAZ what kind of glue would you use ?

Kaz is correct, My last breeding pair laid her fourth egg yesterday and only started sitting after her third egg. Do not be too hasty. Patience is what is needed.

I had an egg recently that had a slight crack (The membrane was not broken) and the chick hatched perfectly well. You can repair the egg but I will let someone elese answer this as I have not done this yet.

Normal behaviour. I think they are just letting Balki know who's top dog in this yard. When I transfer my young birds into the flight all mayham breaks loose as they chase the poor young birds around, This normally lasts about 30 mins or so.

I have one hen with flecking but so far her two daughters are good birds with good directional feather and big spots. Just nead a bit more length in their mask. Can't wait for them to mature they are 7 months old & I have picked out one partner partner who is 8 months old August cant come soon enough for me. The second hen will be paired to my Darman cock who is in the breeding cage.

Do you have your breeding box inside the avairy ? If so take it away so she cannot see the other birds but can hear them. I believe that she is being distracted by the others.
