Question About Purchasing A Budgie
I prefer cardboard box like a shoe box. It is dark inside & there is less chance of the budgie hurting itself from fright. Having said that I have used both.

What Should I Do?
What you will find is that the youngest will most likely not survive as it will be less than half the size of the eldest & will more than likely get squashed by it's elder siblings. Unfortunatley fostering is the only way when this happens. I have had a couple raise 7 but I fostered the oldest two for a week to a young hen & placed them back. I did not let this pair go for a second clutch & have only put them down yesterday after a 3 month lay off to rest.

Potted Plants
You will need to check what plants you put in some are deadly to budgies. There is a list of "safe" plants. I tend to stick with Australian natives as this is what they would eat in the wild. Bottle brush & eucalyptus is great & is widely available, My street is full of bottlebrush & I just trim the branches evry few days, give it a wash with water & put it in the avairy, The birds love it. Also if your budgies will try to nest in the pots if no nest boxes are available.

Our Newest Additions
Hi The babies both look like Pied as does the father. Does Blackie have dark eyes ? or are they red as appears in the photo, my guess is that she is a double factor spangle as your violet baby is a pied/spangle & the other is a yellow faced blue pied. Both babies have the "bold" patch on the back of their heads which is indictive that they are pied. They are both beautifull babies. Someone else may add to this but I think they are dominant pieds.

How Many Times A Day?
Once a day but make sure it's enough for the whole day. I suggest you change the water daily or if it's really hot twice a day is what I do.

2 X Yellow Face
One needs to be carefull with chicks leaving the nest. I have had occasions when the hen will attack but thankfully I have been there & immediatly remove the hen & let the cock bird raise the young. I have recently been removing the nest box as soon as the youngest is covered in feathers. I find the Hen is less aggressive & even helps in the feeding of the chicks in the breeding cage.

What Sex
No Arguments here she's a hen

Vote On Removing Attikie's Nest Box
I agree wait until at least 12 months old. Although budgies are sexually ready at that age they are not mature enough & physically ready to raise young as it takes a lot out of them .

Having Bad Luck...
Just a note, you may want to advise the pet shop as they may not realise the birds have this disease. And as everyone suggested buy from a reputible breeder.

Bottlebrush Ok?
I give my birds bottlebrush & the birds love it. I just give it a squirt with the hose to clean it . thr birds will strip it down in no time leaves & bark.

Tired Hen?
I would let her & her partner raise the chicks but my experience is not to let them raise more than 3 clutches in a row. 2 is prefferable, esp for a hen.

Nest Box Material Y/n?
I agree wood shavings is the best.

What Will They Be?
Dad looks like a grey green opaline . (Are you 100% sure of parants)Green is normaly dominant but when a green is mated to a grey then this grey green colour apears. Most likely you will get greys & grey greens out of this pairing.
