Indoor Breeding Room
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v614/ang...m/planone-1.jpg Does that help Kaz? I like the idea about the laserlite clear sheets will look into them. I would put them over the breeding cage/breeding area. I have also been thinking about putting some form of avairy mesh wall with a door int he middle that way if birds get out they do not get to the front section and the gym stuff which could be dangerous if someone is on something. you are right about the white paint however. Thanks, lots of things to think about and price out.

Indoor Breeding Room
I was planning on putting a screen door on the back that is locked so that I could have the glass door open 95% of the time only really closing it during the night time for added protection. I like the green idea for paint thanks for that

Indoor Breeding Room
There does not seem to be a section for breeding set ups so hopefully posting this in the right area. okay so my dad wants to know if I want to breed budgies then I either do it right or not do it at all. First off none of my budgies are show quality the only one that comes even close is Boof and even then a big not really. So he has said no more low quality birds or pet type birds, not going to go off and buy top $1000 birds but you get my drift. So I spent today doing up plans for my breeding room. Basically the back section will be a breeding room the front will be a gym, not sure if we are going to divide it off no one told me. A few things to note. Dad said to place the cages short end against the wall to give the birds a more colony feel. Also the stands that I plan on using hold 3 to 4 cages however the bottom one will not be used as it's low and if my dogs get in there they will terrorize the birds and the 4 cage stands the tops are too high cause I am short so I will have 6 breeding cages at any one time (two per stand). The Holding cage will be for young birds or cull birds to sell to other people etc.... To tell you the truth I only think I will ever have 4 pairs on the go at one time just because of the time factor. The other side of the shed will have a bench and a bar fridge (to keep the veg and medications in) as well as all my seed supplies and anything else I need. My big issue is that I can't put a window in so I am thinking of changing the garage door over for either bi folding doors with frosted glass or a LARGE window and one door, again with frosted glass to allow light in but not allow everyone to see in. My issue here is the Body Corp but I think it would look nicer then the garage door. The back door is going to be changed over for a door with a glass panel rather then a solid door and if and big IF I had the money somewhere down the track I would LOVE to put a sky light in. I am also going to paint the walls (anyone know if one color makes Budgies breed more then others???) So this is the view of my front door and garage (and my two puppies complaining that I am letting the cold in) A closer shot of the garage (I know I need to do stuff about the ivy) Inside full of my Bosses junk The back door That Opens to the existing aviary The roof, I thought it was better insulated but in the second shot you can see the though the rip so going to have to talk to someone about that Also going to have to fix up the light situation A view from the back to the front I need to re measure just to make sure everything will fit where we think it will. If anyone has any suggestions then please let me know. This is in it concept stage so I would rather have 100 hints and ideas rather then build it and get told... "oh if you had done blah it would have worked better." So Ideas suggestions thoughts?

Vet Trip For My New Bird Sky
I am right there with you, this is just the first step to something much more! Like the guy in the states that kept setting cats on fire then set his mother on fire! As I said the RSPCA and the police are going to the school on Monday to talk to those involved. The RSPCA has asked me to hand Sky in but the vet told them last night that as she needs ongoing and daily treatment that I would be best to do that over the next 70 days so she is in my care for the time being if they push for me to hand her over after that (really i think they will have forgotten her) then I will hand her to MB who is a wildlife carer and then adopt her back! Also if they really give me a hard time I will invoice them $200 I have laid out on the little girl at the moment! It's really funny how quick they come back from something like this, I have her cage facing a window so she can see the birds outside and she is really jumping around and looking very alert and having lots of fun now that she can balance and I also think she likes the warmth and the light that is coming through the window.

Vet Trip For My New Bird Sky
Rang the vet in the last 1/2 hour. Yes it will be fine cause Lemon already has eggs (not 100% sure but 99% sure) it would be worse for her to stop her from laying (not sure how I would do that she is an egg machine) then let her have the eggs. However as MB said there maybe a yellow colour to the eggs and I will have to watch the babies as they might have some issue so she wants me to bring them in and get checked. As for the boys the school says they do not want to get the police and/or the RSPCA involved they are going to disipline within the school and I don't think this would have happened if I had not made as much noise as I did and two of my cousins work for the school. Oh and the police already know, got a nice lady who is a Budgie owner and so annoyed/shock/mad it is not funny. Pictures where taken last night at the vets and they are coming to talk to me later today. Name is Sky cause she is Sky Blue and I didn't want them to put "no name" on her meds bottle. As for the non flying thing I was told that they where shaking the box and then throwing her out she was trying to fly but did not get much lift off and had no real direction so I think she was just really badly stunned. MB thanks for the offer I might take you up on it. At the moment I have the Quarantine group coming out and into the avairy on the 13th of July so If I do fine anything I really want then if you could hold them for 2 weeks that would be great if not then that's cool. Anyway off to buy metal bowls and some stuff for the guys outside catch you all later.

Vet Trip For My New Bird Sky
okay again mods if in the wrong spot feel free to move. So I got another bird the other night. She was a resuce bird that orginally I was told had been found kept in a shoe box under a bed for a few weeks, then brought to school where she was shaken in the box to stunn her and thrown in the air as other boys threw rock at her. She escaped and ended up in my hands. However I have since found out that she was purchased at a fete for $5 and the rest is still the same. I want to thank Kaz, melbournebudgie & Chrysocome for all their help and support last night while I worried over one sick budgie. She looked better today and I took her to the vets and this is the list of issues we are 99% sure that she has psitticosis *bangs head against desk* we where going to do the test but the vet told me if it came back postive or negative the treatment would be the same so I decided that $66 could go towards her new cage rather then the test. She is now on Psittavet Powder for the next 10 weeks/70 days and she got a Psittavet Injection. Her feet where a mess and had to be cleaned up so I have set her cage up with large flatish poles cause she can't balance that well on the smaller perches I had She has mites so was treated for them as well She has a very hard brest bone and then a spongey crop, the vet said she thought this might have been from eating the wrong seed or getting to much shell grit so I have to watch for signs of her throwing up and also hope that in the next few weeks the goes down. So at the moment I am teating all birds that where inside the house when she was with the Psittavet Powder (anyone know where I can get this cheaper then $40 for 100g?) I will also re treat them all for Mites when she is due again. They where all treated in the last week but will do it again today and then keep them on the same cycle as here even though they have not come in direct contact. I am thinking of treating the guys in quaratine and the ones in the aviary both with the powder and for mites, I don't think it could hurt any ideas or suggestions? So Psittavet every day for the next 70 days, Mite treatment every 10 days for the next 70 days not water base vegtables Qarratine for the next 70 days One quick question I am 99.9% sure that lemon is about to lay an egg is the Psittavet Powder going to effect her or her offspring? I forgot to ask the vet. So yeah here is a picture of Sky that I took yesterday sorry for the **** picture but she is VERY stressed but seems to be getting better.

Wedding Update
There are no dumb questions! Really up untill a few years ago I had never worn makup and then my boss pretty much said I had to so I had to learn fast. The quickest and easiest way was to do a course over a few weekends it ended up being not that bad. Now it is just part of my daily life.

Wedding Update
http://www.inglot.com.au/ they use alot of colour in their make up which is why I sugessted them for you. Most are open on a Sunday so it is do able. If you want I could bring all my stuff around and we could have a play and see what you do and don't like that way you know. Also do som styles and then go outside and take digital photos so we know what will photo well. Then you can lean mine if you want for the big day. A Make Over is $45 and you get $45 worth of product (this is how I have gotten all mine) that way you can get some lipstick so that you can do touch ups or a bit of powder. Stores are located here Chadstone Chadstone Shopping Centre B054, 1341 Dandenong Rd, Chadstone, VIC, 3148 0434 365 811 Epping Epping Plaza 276, Cnr Cooper & High Street, Epping, VIC, 3076 0423 296 971 Fountain Gate Westfield Fountaingate 1118A, Magid Drive, Fountain Gate, VIC, 3805 0432 759 163 Frankston Frankston- Bayside Shopping Centre Shop 116A, 28 Beach St, Frankston, VIC, 3199 0411 132 374 Highpoint Highpoint Shopping Centre 2055, 200 Rosamond Rd, Maribyrnong Rd, Highpoint, VIC, 3032 0408 491 143 Northlands Northlands Shopping Centre KK09, 2/50 Murray Road, Preston, VIC, 3072 0432 750 001 Taylors Lakes Watergardens Shopping Centre 97, 399 Melton Highway, Taylors Lakes, VIC, 3038 0423 845 188 I know the Chadstone one is good if that helps.

Wedding Update
MB if you need help with make up I can do that. I have done a course or the alternative is depends on the time of the wedding see if there is an inglot near you and pay about $45 - $65 for a make over the morning of your wedding.... this beats the *** out of $300 odd that normally you are charged however I would suggest you go and get a make over done before the big day to make sure the lady is not a "lets use loads of blue" type of person.

Pet Shop
I try not to support pet shops when they sell birds if they are not really looking after them or they sell for strangly HIGH prices! But I am very tempted.
-
Pet Shop
That pretty much describes the green one that have at the moment and have had for the past year! She is bigger then any of my guys but she is not really a show type just a BIG bird! So tempted might go down there this weekend if she is still there I might just see about paying for her and getting her "tamed" and see how many fingers they lose! :budgiedance: Then she can come and live in my aviary.... hmmm only issue is because of her size it worries me she might beat up the other guys.

Pet Shop
I can not tell you how tempted I am to do it! But then again I think I would rather spend the money on my guys!
