  1. To tell you the truth I am not sure, the lady who gave him to me tried to hand him into the RSPCA but they would not take him and told her to contact me, the story she told them and the story she told me where two different stories so we think it's one of the two a) she bought him found hand raising to hard and wanted to get rid of him quick and tried to pass him off or b ) she breed him and his parents died and she had no idea how to hand raise him and wanted to pass him off quick.
  2. We believe that he is a quaker
  3. I like the idea of putting a creepy dool in it with no hair and missing an eye!
  4. OHHHH pet store for sale... *wishes I had won more then $13 on the lotto last tuesday*
  5. Honey good start, as the others have said there are a few things that I would change. You seem to put yourself down and remind them that others may have applied for the job. here is a quick re write, something for you to think about Dear Sir/Madam I would like to apply for a position at (shop name). In the past few years I have become very familiar with your store as I go there frequently to purchase Budgerigars and other pet care products. My experience with animals, and in particular birds, will assist me in the day to day care of your animals. For several years I have own aviaries and have experience in caring for birds. I have also been involved in the care and maintenance of a breeding flock. My retail experience has come from volunteering at opportunity shops and I know this has taught me how to deal with customers and has given me necessary sales skills that will be required of me while working for you. I am willing and able to X X X X X X I am seeking an opportunity to further build my career and take on new challenges. A position in your store would offer me both of these and hold strong personal and professional appeal as this is an area that I would like to continue to work in. I look forward to hearing from you in regards to interview to discuss my skills further. I can be reach on mobile number XXXX or e-mail XXXXX Thanks you for your time and consideration Yours sincerely XXX
  6. Cool will work to grab her back when we get a chance, your right about space here at the moment, i have no avairy as it has Trish's ringnecks in it and the green cheeks are exploding but this week should get both new avairys up which will free up some space
  7. We got some smashed eggs over here as well. If you are not planning on putting her back down can I get her back as Pippi now has a cock that he is intrested in putting her back down again if she comes into condition in the next month otherwise we might wait and see what happens
  8. If he is drinking then just add it to his water he should be fine
  9. Try and hold his head at the base between two fingers. If all else fails you can just add the stuff to his water and forget the other method. Really if he has settled and his poo is returning to normal and he is eating and dinking then just give him a small amount of water with the powder in it two times a day. the first few rounds should hold him over and being young he will drink more then an adult bird anyway. Sorry to hear about your fingers. Oh the fun of pet ownership!
  10. Well update - I purchased the one that Kaz said, got it for $255 and change which i think is a good price for it. Going to pick it up on Friday night if I can borrow the trailer from Mum and Dad. Still not 100% sure how to get it into the back yard but we are thinking of taking it up and over the roof of the garage. Will let you all know how I go
  11. Hey I would not be overly worried about mega or cankers, he would be showing other signs but by all means take him to the vet, the meds I gave you will keep anything a bay untill you can. If his poos return to normal and the regurg stops then I would say keep an eye on him but if neither of these things change then get him to Colin Walker (he is open 9-5 monday to friday and one of the cheaper ones around you)
  12. Can I get prices for the pellets that you feed Green Cheeks please
  13. how did everyone pull up today?
  14. Good to hear, give paddy the yellow stuff in the plastic jar between 5 - 10 mls for 10 days Give the other guys the white powder in the glass jar just a sprinkle in their water till it's gone and no longer then 15 days. I am glad that he seems to be doing better, he is cute and as Pippi said should tame down really well.
  15. Nove call me, both Pippi and I are here. DO NOT put him in the room with the other birds i think he might be sick!
  16. okay then well that is just nasty!
  17. I am soooo buying a ticket!
  18. I sent it to some website and they notified me that it got special honours but now i can't remember which site it was!
  19. Its bad enough when you do it to your own birds but they guys are not mind i am just holding them for a while so it's even worse (not for the birds but for me) I really hope I have never done this to my budgies!
  20. Dude you where just down the road from me! I live up the warrigal end of Highbury rd! You should have let us know and I might have got my act into gear and brought Elmo in for a weigh in!
  21. Very cute guy, if MB can't help you out I am in Burwood if that is closer and can also have a look. Now first BREATH! If you want some to chat to PM me and I will send you my mobile number. I was a budgie owner who had a seed only guy for 7 years before I worked it all out (alot of that thanks to this site) take a little info and work on that till you are comfortable, a Budgie is not going to be injured if you don't feed, worm, etc... all in the first few days. Also MB it might not have been the petshop that did that. I know the shop near me got a bunch of new birds and I was in there today and they where swearing up a storm at the mess the breeder had made of the wing before they came into the store.
  22. First Trish they are all still there! Second - I am currently looking after 4 ringnecks for Trish till she can get over here and pick them up. They are happy in my Budgie Avairy (my Budgies are inside with the aircon) So today I wet them with a hose a few times but they freaked out and scream and I could not work out why when the other week they LOVED the water. See I left the hose sitting in the garden, and it gets hot, really hot so i was infact spraying the birds with hot water. I feel soooo bad, they are all fine, when I worked out what was going on I caught them all and checked them and gave them cool bathes and now my hands and arms look like I put them though a mince grinder but it was worth it. By The Way i am now calling the Blue male, Sir Bites a lot, and his Hen is currently called F****** B****
  23. Put a bird bath in the avairy (bunnings has them for about $10) Put Shade Cloth over the aviary Water the roof of the aviary two or three times Hang wet sheets - If you can get a fan and blow it onto the wet sheet this this increase the effectiveness of it. Hose the birds down (make sure you don't saturate them as then they just get wet and sticky a light hose every few hours or even three or four times a day will do great Don't leave veggies in the aviary they go off and the birds can get sick from eating them WATER WATER WATER make sure there is lots of it, they will attempt to get into the water so that is why a bird bath is a good idea
