A Present For Av
My dad and three brothers use to play, my Dad was the captain for the Victorian team at one state and also the Australian team whent he USA came out and they played them years and years ago. My Bad also breed horses and his pride and joy was Silver our stallion. He passed away in '92 but only days before that he got Holly's mum pregant and she was the last foal to hit the ground from him. I got her and rode her for a while and then due to my prolaspe disc was told to stop so we dicided to breed from her. Michelle who has her late husband Brice and Dad where great friends. After Brice died alot of people took their horses back from her and his son and her where left with no horses so we came to the agreement that they choose who to breed her to, they birth and raise the foals, break them in and ride them. i still own them and have the final say on sales but we then split the cost. Holly's last foal I got a really good offer for but Brices son called me begging me not to sell him so i will not. They are finally getting the communities confidence back. i think people thought Brice was the brains behind the op and she was just there for the ride but in fact she is fantastic with horses and his son is an amazing polo player.

A Present For Av
He is a polo pony, father was a racehorse mother was a arab. As for the vet I have no clue what is going on. As for the lady looking after her, I don't hold this against her, Holly has a habit of faking being in foal so when we where told that she was not in foal the fact that she got fat and milked up was just par for the course for her. She is the type of mare the really likes being up the duff even when she is not her body acts as if it is!

A Present For Av
Last year we bred my horse and she did not get pregnant, we did all the tests and nothing. So we decided to rest her and then try agian this year. However she has not being coming into season so we where thinking about bringing her home and giving her a year off. Today the lady went out to catch her to float her home and there in the stable was a little filly! Four white socks and a white face! We have no clue what happened, we figure the vet must have "missed" seeing the foal when he did the test. Either way this is great! I am so happy! Once I get some pictures I will post them!

Cuttlefish
It's Illegal to take it from the beach without a permit. So if you are going to do this just be careful you don't get caught like I did! Other then that, I would wash it, let it dry and then scrape off the outside so only the really clean white inside remains

Hi
Check out the FAQ section for cage suggestions. I like what is commonly called Flight cages they are twice as wide as they are high. Are they going to get some out of the cage time? If not them going for something as big as a HQ 13221 cage like this But it all comes down as budget and what you can afford. Stay clear of of anything with dome or peck tops waste of space. try for natural branches in the cages, the general rule is their feet should wrap around the branch about 3/4th of the way. Having them near an open window is great, natural sun is also fine as long as they can get out of it if they need to. Just make sure they don't get in a draft as they get cold quick and that will make them sick. There are a few posts about members cages great place to start

Big Bird Cage Shopping
No I don't know who made it, it's one of these "made in China" cages As for seperate cages, will make sure they each have a cage, Elmo is a King Parrot and Charlie is a Quaker so I am going to have to be careful letting them out together let alone living together

Big Bird Cage Shopping
So I have spoken to a few people and they said that I should get Charlie's cage as soon as I can as we might run into an issue with Elmo later down the track. Basically they said that his cage should be set up in the room for a few weeks so that Elmo can get use to it and know that he is not allowed inside it but that he can play on it etc... So I have been cage hunting. I want one that is the same as Elmo's so that both cages will look look nice next to each other. Also means that I can run a play gym accross the top as they will both be the right height. Also I like the look of this cage and other sites have said they are a great size for quakers. So hunting I go and I can't find one, I can find them in white (been there done that not doing that again) but not in the green, blue and black that I know they come in. Now I think I am going to have to go to this pet store that I HATE and get it through them (there are where I got Elmos from) I know they are going to charge me like $400 for it and I am going to be depressed having to leave the birds there because they have a lorrie that I have fallen in love with but can't take home :'( Grrrrr Anyway here is Elmo's cage See how it has two doors on the front, also having the double bars means I can put the swivel cups in like the picture below without having to worry about the strength of the cage

Checking Some Fruits, And How Do You Feed It To Your Budgies?
I cut everything up and put it together at the bottom on the cage in a small round dish, my guys see the dish coming and flip out and even land on my hands to get to it as quick as they can. I have given my guys peppers (I give my green cheeks them and they LOVE them) none of them seem to be in love with it and I have not heard anything about it being bad for them

Egg Questions
I check my guys once a day while they are laying and even then it is a lift count eggs and lower operation. (10 sec tops) When I have about 5 eggs I do not check them again for 18 days and then check once a day and again that is a lift and count and go. When the babies hatch I mark on the nest box card the day and then I check twice a day to make sure crops are full and the babies are being feed. I do not touch the chicks or the eggs untill the 10 day mark which is when I ring the babies. It has taken me a while to get my nerves down to only checking this amount and even then my breeding partner comes over and checks them as well so they get a few extra checks in there but I try and keep it down to no more then two a day less if I can. Since I have started this I have had less smashed eggs and less flattened babies. I think I over checked the first few round I have done and since these are are the same hens I figure it was me that caused the interference and issues the first time around

Egg Questions
Eggs can go 10 days before she had to sit all the time. I try not to handle the eggs and just let nature take it course. Budgies are great as they will le tyou take a peak but if do it to much you can chase her off the eggs

Meet Charlie
LOL I was trying to work out how you knew about the teddy bear! Thanks so much for the cage the love bird is now in it and seem happier and as we might be getting another love bird in then it will be good that they can have a large cage. I really think that Charlie is a quaker as he makes the quaker noise when you feed him and after it and also he will be a green bird so it is starting to add up

Meet Charlie
