  1. You need to go to the National & the sledgeing going on between,NSW &VIC,it might of changed now we have a new presdent,I think the past one is in the carer team this year,I won't be there this year. But there will be 6 of the Geelong boys there, they have 4 birds in the team.
  2. Victoria is the only progress state,The rest are behind the 8 ball, in all fairness I would think if you log on each state, they will have there teams up, I will go & look & return. I have returned, alas I could not find any teams from any of the other states. The closest was NSW,they had the winners of each class but found no team. A big chance, for any member on here to put up there team for the National from there state.
  3. How many are involved in selecting the team for the National nubbly.
  4. No Julie's bird is the reserve bird,it would only go if one of the other birds, could't go, for what ever reason.
  5. Perhaps thats when I was I was Haveing a little nana nap,Did you have any birds in the shield,You did't have a orange top on by any chanceI was looking around for any faces I had't seen before & there was a tall thin girl I had't seen before.Yes the pet shop bird, came 5th if I was not mistaken,& it was a strong class in say the top 10 to 12.If you was there at the presentation, you would of seen me,it was me that walked out the front & wanted to shift the speaker,to stop that static,I don't know why they don't buy a decent PA system.that one never been any good.
  6. Splatt, won the violet class & 3rd in the double factot & it is reserve for the national, Good one Julie,I did't get back to congratle you on your wins,I spoted you ,but was busy with other things, was there any others from the forum, that went to the shield today.
  7. I am not sure but I think.for a better word, the colour of the sperm,One of the breeders I know Iam sure,he mentioned, something about colour,I don't know if he was meaning clear or clourdy.
  8. Yes give the chipboard the flick,& use a constuction ply,if you can get onto some,Have alook at the ones Daz makes,& use them as acopy & you wont go far wrong.I would get yourself a vacum cleaner, one of those wet & dry or simular.Just make sure when you are cleaning in the cage, you don;t suck up the budgie,
  9. Its a Y/F Albino, nothing to special. If you know the history of its breeding,yo might be able to work out it lines,But if a pet shop bird, could be any thing.
  10. Who ever owns that bird,$$$ sell it before mattdog changes her mind.
  11. I have both,I use oral, when I am doing all the birds,& the spot on,if there is just a couple.the spot on is mainly used on the poultry,if I bring any home from the Market,I put a couple of drops on the back of the neck & that cleans up every thing.
  12. Splat, I will try to remember to call you Julie. I hope your birds do you proud.
  13. I do the same thing Daz, 10mil to the ltr.Take the water away for the day & put the mixture in the next day.

Thats right Daz, its just up the road.
  15. Jimmy in the strong clubs,it is very hard for the beginner to win & some think that all budgie are good show budgie. Some people can't tell a good budgie from a ordinary one, that is why they leave, they get disheartened, that there birds are not winning. You only have to read the posts on here, you will have people saying, isnt that alovely budgie & no doubt to them it is,but to a show breeder, they think it very ordinary.

I think you will find that the distane, the NQLD clubs would have to travel. The year the national was held in Cairns, the NQLD club held the area show on the Saturday,as one of the clubs, was traveling 1000 ks in a round trip, to get there.
  17. But I couldn't have just let her die or taken a pair of scissors to her leg .... and no, I can't just replace her just like that - she's a Cec Gearing hen. Well Renee,if you take notice of what Sailor said, not to breed with her,its a waste of the money you spent at the vet,I would put her with a good cock, but no perch & hope they mate on the floor, or if you know some one that can do AI,give that a try.
  18. We are very happy with the team, from Geelong, will be interesting to see all the other clubs teams. On Sunday. GO THE VIC'S
  19. Most of the time, you are not sure, what 2budgie will breed till you hatch the chicks. The pair have to click, as the saying goes. But you have a better chance of getting good birds out of good birds,A small bird might bred you a good bird, & that bird you mate to another bird & they are all small & you are back were you started. If it was easy to breed good birds,we would all have good birds,But thats not the case,if you breed 50chicks,there may only be a hand full that are worth keeping.I could go on about breeding, but there are more disapointments, then success, that is why,it a revolveing door,a lot give it away, because it to hard.A big % that are trying to breed show budgies, will drop by the wayside.
  20. You pay $60 to see the vet +meds & 9 times out 10 it dies, you could of brought another one for $20 & it could be abetter bird then the one, that died. Most of the posters on here could get a bird from another member,
  21. That is so true Daz,the 2 have to go together, one is no good without the other,It cost the same to feed a good bird as a ordenary one.
  22. I would think the birds, that they have the price on,you would put your name down & if you are the only name on that bird you pay up & its yours. If there is more then one name, they will draw a name out of the hat & its yours. If there is any birds that take your fancy & you cant be there ,you can get some one to put your name down for it.You can do the same for the auction, get someone to bid ip to a price for you.
  23. My point was<how easy it is to cut of a budgie foot> As for bleeding,it was very little. But thats okay,If you want to take your bird to the vet,for something that's not worth the visit. Sailor are you a vet yet,
  24. Seeing as its the oral drench,I would put one drop on the beak,or if you have a few budgie,10mils,in a ltr of water.
  25. If its a plain ring & no numbers on it,it wont mean a thing. But if stamped & says 007 yy2 bcv 07 it a registered ring.
