Yes I have to admit,Splat looked at me with daggers,I thought I must have the wrong person. This Roger Watson,I don't know if I have heard of him.Has he been around for a while,asking that sort of moneyfor birds,is he tyed up with the Leeton Watson.?

Its the way with good birds,a lot of the time they,die early or not fertile or wont lay an egg. Perhaps it the good life they live,to much good food.I thought Bob was into AI. Iam surprised only one chick.

I would give them a rest for the week,its hard to say you will have to, look at them a couple a days before the show & if they look as good as they were,when you took them to the show last week,you will have to do very little.

If you have another pr that have eggs that are not fertile,you could put the eggs under that pr.or make a nest concave with a hole in the middle & put that in the nest,about 25mil off the bottem & when she lays the egg will roll, through the hole out of harms way & foster it to one of the other pr,that has only a couple of eggs.

Seeing as you are showing the same team,by the look of it.I would,give Albury a miss & save them for your own show Splat.

Who were the winners on the day,who ever the judges were,somebody must of won.

Where the show report,from todays show Splat,so I can report on how you thought the judges preformed,I think the judges were the Presdent & the show manager,from our club. :happy-dancing:

I agree with you Sailerwolf,on this one,there is to much meds used, thats why you have to go to the Vet now,to get meds,that you could buy off the shelf,because people were doseing there animals,when they did,t need it, or with the wrong meds.Half the people that come on here are killing there birds,by doing what they think,they should do.

By the look of it is about 2.5 bricks wide,for the 2 pens & thats about 675mils =335mils a pen.

As I said on the other post,until they penilise flecking on the show bench. Breeeders will keep breeding & showing them.

Iam not in favor of flecked birds being showed,there was a seminar on flecking,I think it was at the Cairns at the National & they were going to do a lot of things with a big stick. But when the Judges wont penilise the flecking,nothing will happen,They cleaned it up over in England,so it can be done.

My view on flecking is,until the judges stop puting up flecked birds,like they did in England,breeders will keep showing them.There is a lot of talk about not puting up flected bird, but thats all it is talk.

heathrow,are you a member of a club.You have n/a for club.Do you show,Seeing as you don't go to the auction how do you know, the standard of the bird,in the auction.

I will be intersted as to what Splat, thinks of our auction,Members of the GEELONG Club birds in the auction.have to go through a preselection,to get in the auction.The other birds are from invited breeders,& if they are not up to scratch,they wont make the bench & they will not be invited back.The bird can only be 07 & 08 rings.No old birds or unbroken caps. PS Heathrow,you may be surprised of the quality of the birds on offer.We only invite the top breeders.

Iam not sure about putting a nest box in the avery,just pick your prs,you want to breed,& put the cock in & then a couple days later the hen,in my opinion a nest box,could cause more problems,then its worth.

Well Ill be,no wonder the budgie club,was't that helpfull,it was't anything to do with Budgie. But now you have the the wild life in the picture,you could have to prove were your parrots came from.I know they become clingy, if they think they can get another fine on there books.

If you go to your budgie club,they will help,If I remember,a member of your club had the same problem, Ask the presdent,he will know what to do.

Try puting a couple of millet sprays in the nest box, that works some time & stops the feather picking.

My results from the Shield today, Recessive pie,6th & 15th. Crests 6th,11th & 14th. Fellow 18th. The Geelong club came in 3rd,we were in 2nd till they relised the Violets are not counted in the point score,bit of a bummer,we had'nt come in 2nd before,we have had 3rd on several times,perhaps next time.
