  1. No offence but some one that has a hand full of budgie, are question a breeder of budgie, for more years then you have budgies,if you don't want the opinion of people, with many years of breeding, wait till the budgies are much older& it is ovious what sex they are.
  2. I think because of the ruling on the rings, for the National,I dont think anyone will be sweating on rings, will be a different story, next year.
  3. No one from NSW & QLD, have put up there hand yet,as a matter a fact. Not many have said to much. Your right GB about the 2 rings,it is a bit complakated & it would take me to long to explain it. But if you think you might breed a bird for the National, put a 09 ring on.
  4. Looking at the boxes, they are Malamite, wil lbe a lot easy to clean.A spray with a good cleaner,& wipe over.
  5. If you want to show,at next years National, the birds have to have 09 rings on.I guess all clubs have been told that, by there state body.
  6. I will second that,both hens,
  7. So true Nubbly & there would be members on this forum, who would fall in to this catagree. They think by putting to birds together & they call themselves breeders,I see it quite often,in my job on Mondays,as the auctioneer for feathers & fur & at times I have to say to these people,I can't sell this animal, it is not well. They look at you,as if you would't know what your talking about & give all the exqueses under the sun.
  8. You have another 5 fertile eggs in the nest with the chick & 4 fertile in the nest of 7 in the last nest,I am not sure, the eggs are to spread out.
  9. Dave,is there any heat in the leg,or look inflamed that is something else you can check,it will look more red then pink,if there is a break, between the knee & hip.

He is looking the goods, the spots might let him down, unless he moults them out & grows a better set. I would pull them & see how the next set looks.
  11. macka replied to Dave_McMinn's topic in New to BBC
There may be some fellow,in the background of the Albino.
  12. okay It appears, that Iam the only one that thinks. they should of been put down,I will let the topic die a natural death.
  13. I guess the next thing you could do,is put up a weeky picture progress & show how they are doing & how long the feathers keep growing.
  14. The hen might be a Lutino,or is it just the photo.
  15. Seeing as you have mentioned, the RSPCA.I would think they would take a dim veiw,to keeping a bird's alive, that's going to die from a breeding defect. Unless you are all vegetarians, you are eating animals, that is killed for meat.I don't see the problem of have a poor bird put down.
  16. I did't go AV,but I diud look at the money they made & there wern'many at $50.The bloke that went ffrom out club, in his report last night at the meeting, said that Henry had changed his style of birds,he has a lot of Gary Gazzard blood in the birds, that may be the reason, for the feather thing Buffy birds.
  17. i think he was being lazy with his writting kaz i think he ment 200.00 as he went on to say their was only a few at 2o.00 So true Blue,I could just imagine,Henry haveing birds for $2 at the auction. For those I have confused in my, 2 to 300=$200 to $300. The $20 bird was a 2005 ring bird. Another quote from the bloke last night, was some of the same birds, would of made twice as much at the Hills auction,so that give you some idea the prices, they make at the Hills sale'
  18. I have read the post, that have been posted, since my post & I will reserve my thoughts. But to compare a bird, with a human life,I just shake my head.
  19. At the comittee meeting to night.I had a look at the catalogue from the sale, prices $1400 for Op Cin Sky blue Hen,$1100 for Double Factor Spangle,$700 for Lt Green Spangle,Y/F Violet $600 & other Y/F's $5 to $600.There was a lot in the $2 to $300 range,I only noticed one at $20 as I flicked through the pages.
  20. This is less about a mother neglecting her chicks or losing her nestbox and more about others stopping her getting back into her nestbox. A lot of budgies in aviaries breeding get on top of the nestboxes and stop the parents flying to or getting back into the nestbox hole to feed their babies. If it is prolonged over, say an afternoon, then the mother quits. Iam going back to to cabinet breeding, this is good Pearce, some take longer then others to see the light buy I guess for you, the light is shineing bright,
  21. Iam very much against, this keeping FD alive,it is the wrong thing to do,it is very cruel & there is nothing to be gained,by keeping them alive. & you all look, on it as being kind.By saying you that dosent mean I am singleing out you Liv,it goes for anyone else, that thinks they are being kind, some come on here & complain about the treatment of birds in pet shops, this is far worse in my opinion & would think there are others on here, who think the same but don't like to say.
  22. In all fairness, any budgie's today, would be only be carrying the name of mannes & any blood would of run out a long time ago,to keep the blood line, you have to be line breeding but is okay to use the name,
  23. Pairing Rec Pies together,is not a good breeding move,if you are trying to breed for show birds.A split rec to a rec or to a normal.
  24. colour patch Slatty Bluish = grey bird. """""" Violet = Mauve.
  25. I hope you did't pay a to big of a arm & leg Kaz,He has a deep mask & sits well on the perch, lacks back scull,& alittle loose in the wing by the photo, but still a good budgie,to breed with the write hen .
