Hi every one We had our club diploma show today and I did well again'. I got best adult bird in Beginners, Best hen in beginners and then she went Opp Sex young bird in beginners, You could of knocked me over with a feather when my double factor took the best hen in beginners but she is a nice hen and she is a younger sister to the white ones. and I came home with the club Champion trophy that I keep for a year then return for someone else to win next year. So over all a great day. still no camera though to take pics Shows are now over until May the young bird shield.

Yep pulled some of them out. I entered them all tonight but after thinking more I have decided not to show the ones that have been to Melbourne and a couple that have went to Albury, Some I was taking in turns so that means some can go Saturday. BUT the adult cock is out even though he is looking great, doesn't looked stressed at all I have decided to pull him and his sister out and you know what they have done the 2 have paired up. Cheeky little things , brother sister I don't think so. I actually feel better about my decison now as I was stressing over. And my sky cinnamon spangle sister to the ones above and the one with the crook eye has come good, I have her down with a beautiful sky cock and they have 3 eggs but I can't tell if they are fertile yet, have my fingers crossed. I have 10 pair down, 7 pair have eggs, 2 pair haven'y yet and one pair are foster parents for the sky spangles eggs but that back fired because they haven't taking yet.

No GB the bird in question is the adult cock plus all the young that also have been shown.

I actually think he likes the show scene because he seems to show himself off and his sister is much the same, she looked great Sunday, I couldn't believe it was her. Thanks Kaz and Gb but yesterday I put back in the aviary for the first time and it was that sad, he was trying hid hardest to fly, I sat him up on the perch and he went to fly off and splat into my hands. It's sad because it is my falt he can't fly. Macka do you think I should take the DF spangle cock as he has been to 3 shows and if I did how long would I have to rest him before breeding. Hey all I have attended 3 shows this month so far and my results are great. Sorry no pics as camera is out of action. BUT I sent 2 birds to the adult shield early this month and I came 3rd Df spangle and 24th cinnamon. Last Sunday Week I went to the Albury Diploma show and came home with best Adult bird with my Df spangle cock and reserve young cock withe my pied in beginners. My prize was a sash and 20kilos of seed which came in handy as I was low. Today I went to the Riverina Diploma show at Barooga and I got best adult bird with my Df spangle cock, opp sex adult bird with my df spangle hen which are brother and sister in beginners and then I got best adult bird in show with the df spangle cock and opp sex bird in show with the df spangle hen. And I got DF spangle variety with my yellow Df spangle hen sister to the above. I came home 4 sashes and 1 rossete and a belt sander a cordless drill, a toaster and an iron. I also got 10 first places and I took along a bird with no tail because I wanted to see how he shaped up and he was judged and I was told by the judges he was the best bird there, I think they ment in beginners. He is a younger brother to the above birds. So you can see I had a greta day and I have our club show this Saturday coming. I didn't do very well with the young birds as I didn't breed many last year and the ones that I wanted to show lost their tails last week so I was really depressed over that but I still had a great time. I will see if I can borrow a camera in the next couple of days and take some pics of my winners for you. But hey Kaz you have the brother to these birds so I hope you can breed some winners too.

Yep it would of been safer No But I didn't have the money to waste, have big car problems but now I have more since the storm, and beside as Greg puts it I have enough and today I decided I am only going to use a few of my cock birds this year so the rest will go and there are some nice cocks there too. Gee wish I was able to go but I went to Melbourne the day before and got caught in that storm on the way home, it was very very scary I thought I was going to die, ripped my windscreen wipers off my car and I have a dint in the bonet where a branch flew past at I swear a hundred miles an hour. It looked like a war zone when it slowed down. Trees all over the road for miles and miles and cars crushed by trees. But as for the auction sounds like the prices were great as last year they were much higher.

I am sorry for your loss, but gee I would never keep 2 pair in a cage of that size, hens can be so and so s, I last year I had a the mother of one of my babies attack it because it was in her way as she wanted to go down again and it bit the young one near the cere it died a week later and i would say from shock.

Did that yesterday CW and he is naughtier than ever. But I will do that tomorrow and how about the extra caution of filling the show cage with water.

The green goes into their wings as they moult and get older. Your bird looks a bit fluffed up me to me. His eyes don't look bright. Is he sick.Do you have another photo where is isn't fluffed up.I thought that too Kaz, but I thought with my bad eyes very bad marked spangle. He could be clearwing heavily marked, can't see his tail though.

Uggghhhh I have a naughty one right now, what a pain because I had high hopes for him. Nothing is working on this guy. I am going to try the water in the show cage tomorrow. If he is not hanging up side down on the wire or trying to fly out of the cage he is curled up in the corner. uggghhhh. All the others are doing great (so Far).
