Budgie Goes Mad ! Stressed ?
Well since he developed the habit over just an hour or two I would rule out Giardia. Maybe the hen put the hard word on him Yes and he frieked out, doesn't know how to do it OR is he gay, so instead of telling the hen he is a dud or gay he thinks plucking himself she will never know What some males will do He would of been better to come out of the closet at least he would still have his feathers

Ino's 2010 Season
My violet that I got 1st at the shield and my DF spangles that I have been doing all my winning with all come from $20. and $25. culls. So I am actually proud that I have done so well. BUT I feel I need to spend a little more now to improve and go on, actually probably a lot more. I can actually continue on what I have for a couple of years but I am in need of some good normals mainly hen because the spangles are totally taking over.

Budgie Goes Mad ! Stressed ?
Not good Kaz the bird that did it here plucked all his down and all, had to put a little collar on him so he couldn't pluck anymore. Maybe he is trying to tell you I don't like that hen let me out sorry, but it does look like stress.

Budgie Goes Mad ! Stressed ?
I had one do that a couple of years ago, after a show, I put it down to stress, I always give them probotic and a energy supplment now after the show and all has been good, but I haven't come across that happening in the breeding cage, sorry I can't help.

Dead Baby
a broadspectrum antibiotic. Baytril is a good treatment for the whole when there is yellow belly present and Moxy-T is for individual nest ect. both products from Rob Marshell. BUT any broadspectrum antibiotic will do, like vetafarm triple c will do and is available in some pet shops and ocy B which is also more readily available.

Dead Baby
Hi Anne I believe parents pass it on to the young, but the second one looks good so don't worry. I hope the little one makes it what a big job trying to feed it, good luck

I Am Back
Thanks everyone, glad you have a computer GB, lucky your brother is nifty Yes that stupid farmville it took for ever to do anything so I got cranky with it. Anyway i now have a sick hen, my white df spangle hen that I got best opp sex in show with she is the full sister to my good white one, she is very ill and no idea what's wrong. The vet won't be available until Monday which I think will be too late. All birds have been treated with doxy a few weeks ago. I found her all fluffed up and her eyes half closed, this is wednesday night just before dark so I put her in the hospital cage. Yesterday she looked much better I put her on sulpha AVS. But today her eyes are closed slightly swollen no discharge. She doesn't have a pooy bum. and she doesn't have any discharge from her cere, so I am lost to what it is. Does anyone have any ideas. Have to say I am having a bad run this year again by the looks of it.

I Am Back
Yeh I am having the same problem with my computer, it is stuffed. It will not even turn on so I can't get anything off it at all, Sad all the pics of my birds and my beautiful grandchildren and my sons all lost to an old dinosaur, yep it was pretty old but still did the job and much faster than this stupid laptop. But anyway I spent $135.00 getting this laptop fixed now Lisa wants it back. And she has my flat screen moniter too, so I have nothing really sucks. Told her she has to wait until I buy a new computer, I am planning on buying one from venture computers, it's just coming up with the extra money when all I really want to do is buy some new birds not a computer. Decisions discisions discision .... life isn't ment to be easy I guess  But I think the bird will win over the computer for the time being I hope yours gets fixed soon GB.

I Am Back
Hey all I am back, well probably not as much as before but I will be here more often than I have been. You see I got a bit addicted to that stupid farmville but I am over it now. THANK GOD, it was so slow on my computer it drove me nuts. But I still don't have a camera as my battery died and it cost heaps for a new one but I am working on that now. I have started breeding but with not much luck so far, I had 12 pair down and only 2 nest with fertile eggs, one nest had 5 fertile eggs and the other 3, the nest with the 5 hatched all five but the last one died at hatching, the nest with 3 hatched all 3, BUT the nest with 3 when the babies got to about 21/2 - 3 weeks old the hen decided to pluck that **** out of them and as the other nest had 3 in her nest on her own NO cock, it wasn't possable to put the other 4 in there but I did put one in there which was hers anyway. Well I was beyound myself thinking what will I do as no one else had babies or even eggs for that matter, I rang ino but he only had one little 2 day old baby. so I rang clearwing and he came to my rescue, I jumped in my car with 3 of my plucked babies and one was really messy with blood and all. I drove to Mooroopna and I was really tied as I worked all day and was brained dead really. Anyway clearwing put the babies in with a pair and the hen feed them, This is last Friday, and Tuesday I went there and I saw my little babies and they are looking great 2 violet hens and a green spangle. Thankyou clearwing for saving my babies and they are from my best cock birds. Now I have 2 more nest with fertile eggs, one has maybe 3 fertile out of 4 eggs , as 2 eggs broke and the other nest so far 3 fertile eggs out of 5 and one nest with 6 clear eggs and another nest with 3 eggs and they aren't looking to good (clear last time and I think clear again and I am totally blaming the cock) Anyway that's what's going on here Oh yeah late today I found my white DF spangle hen all fluffed up in the aviary, she is the full sister to my good white bird, she is in the hospital cage, hope she will be okay.

Post Pictures: Of Your Dogs
Remember Buffy on page 2 well she passed away a couple of months ago from a tiger snake bite  We miss her so much.
-
Dead Baby
When a chick has yellow belly it is a salmonalla infection and the hen usually will not feed it and it dies.

Here's A Link With Doctor Harry And Budgies.
I agree PT and I discovered a vet nurse is nothing more than a janiter a glorified mmmm kicker, cleaning and a assisting. But if you love animals it's all worth it but if you can't hack the vomit or poops or all that blood you have to clean up OR the smaell of blood then it isn't all it's cracked up to be. Talking about me I dropped out because I discovered my stomic couldn't handle the task, the cleaning and mopping was fine but I found I vomited more than the dogs did. How embarressing. And the blood well the smell stuck with me day and night. And every time I thought about the smell I nearly fainted. weak hey. Sorry guys just felt like getting this off my chest

- Why Arent My Breeding Pair Of Show Budgies Breeding?
From my experience when birds don't breed it is because they are not ready (in condition) or they are not quite healthy enough or they donb't like each other. But this is my experience. :budgiedance: I have had quite a few try and kill each other some have execeed. But if your birds ill a while ago they may not be really ready for breeding yet.- My Show Results - 2010
Well done fantastic job :hooray:- I Did It Again
Thanks Amy, I was very surprised and very happy when my young hen got best young hen in beginners because she had to beat this violet cinnamon hen that had a beautiful big head which is out of a hen I had here. I new my hen was good but she did have the feather on the head as the other hen bet her last week. So yep I was over the moon. :hooray: - Why Arent My Breeding Pair Of Show Budgies Breeding?
