There Are Cats Surrounding My Aviary.
We have a Jack Russel named Buffy, she is a great cat chaser, she is so well trained that she doesn't bother about the birds at all :bluebudgie: I have been know to trap cats and ring the council and they come and pick them up but these are mainly strays.

My New Saddlebacks:
Norm the same thing happened to me, last week a bought a sky blue hen, she looked fine at the breeders but when I got her home and put her in the holding cage , she behaved weird wouldn't perch just sat on the floor, Greg thought she looked crook but after a few days she is now great, I THINK IT WAS JUST NERVES. So hope that is what is wrong with yours just needs to settle in.

Cutting The Dowl For Perches
I just stick the dowel in a vice to hold it put then I use my jig saw or a hand saw and cut a slit on each end, works for me :yellowhead:

Where's The Blue?
Normaly when a cock birds cere goes to a browny colour means they are out of condition. Or sick. Maybe you should go to the vet and get some worm syrup and they will tell you how much and how to worm him. Good Luck :yellowhead:

Update Breeding Room In Full Swing
Thanks Libby, I am hoping for the best. Yes I love my beautiful birds and if the worst comes maybe I can keep about 12 . Just don't know how I would be able to sort through them like that I sold 26 ladt week end nearly killed me. Some were my best breeding birds and some nice babies. I hope things get better and not worse time will tell. What I can't understand is why he built me the avairies and breeding room for me not to be here. Maybe I'm just parinoid whos knows

Update Breeding Room In Full Swing
Any way here is an update on my babies, I have have taken most of my breeding birds out of the breeding room till I know what's going on with my life.this is nest 9 the pied nest there are 3 pieds in this nest 2 Lt green and 1 sky blue yellow face but it looks like all the yellow has bled through all the white, I didn't know the mother was a yellow face because she is Lt green oplaine cinnamon. Here is the sky blue yellow face pied This little grey oplaine is from nest 5, there were 4 babies in that nest but they are fostered everywhere because they were feather plucked. In the nest 2 yellow face grey opalines , a grey normal opaline, a Yellow Face sky blue opaline both parents were opaline This lot are from everywhere as they are fostered there are 2 double factor yellow from nest 1, 2yellow face opaline grey, 1 cinnamon grey green spangle from nest 14 and 1 Albino which I was hoping to get a yallow face but it looks to be straight Albino This lot are from nest 10 the parents are sky blue split albino and grey yellow face hen which I got the albino but it looks like the rest are just plain greyThis lot are from nest 11 the cock is the same as above and mother grey yellow face normal and all I got was 3 grey normals This lot is from nest 1 she had 5, the 2 yellow double factors being fostered out, 1 Dk green normal, 1 opaline cinnamon normal and 2 grey green spangle 1 being fostered out. These next few pics are from nest 12. Well I hope you all like my pics

I'm Excited:
Yes Norm I agree with Kas, my partner thinks the same way as he has been breeding and showing since a boy and he has commented on how they have changed and he thinks for the worse, he says they are loosing sight of what is a good bird these days because it is all on size and feather. Ahh well something like that anyway.

Hey Joey are you sure she was hatched in December 06, because those latest pics you said when you first got her in July, well she still looks uncapped in a couple and by July she should capped for sure, Joey she could be younger than you think. She looks cinnamon to me. :hap:
