  1. Thanks PT made all sad now, so should I take her to the vet and have her sinuses flushed. CW and lanced it today and it was full of blood but it only went down a bit but she does look more comfortable but it will probably fill up again. She is looking perfectly healthy except the eye but her eye itself is cyrstal clear, it's just the swelling beside her eye.
  2. Crikey Renee like Nubbly said some people pick their first birds up from the pet shop and it starts them on their way to their hobby. Then after they find out who bred it and a few phone calls, they manage to find more breeders and clubs and most times join. And anyway if someone bought my bird from the pet shop and I have sold some young birds there that have probably turned out really good and if that person rang me for info on it nine times out of ten they would buy more. I think records and pedagree are very important.
  3. She is isolate and I have been watching her and hse is rubbing it the cage, I it is giving her grief and the rubbing is making it worse. I have checked her dropping nothing sinister in then at all .

That will be great Gb look forward to seeing more pics. Oh I hope that little chick is not a mop
  5. yes I think here at say hunters, I think $11.00 to $20.00 bag, so yes a big difference
  6. Well said Kaz I have bought birds at auction and I have to admit that I have got a couple really cheap to my good fortune and to maybe the breeder horror thinking they would get heaps more. BUT I have rang these breeders and have been most generous in giving me a verbal background problem there is if I don't look after my bit of paper verbal in pretty useless with me as my memory sucks. :rip: But if I do a search 9 times out of 10 I find my bit of paper and then it goes in m pedigree book.
  7. I use both, I call the whole oats, feeder oats. I use a lot in the breeding season and through winter and cut back a lot through summer. As they are fatting my birds tend to get fat. :rip:
  8. CW had a look and said to get the antibiotics into her which is what I have been doing, don't rush into lancing. The vet is only there on Mondays (avian Vet) car was in the garage for a few days only got it back late today, so couldn't take her but he said to keep up the antibiotics. I actually sent a email with a photo of her eye to Rob Marshell to see what he says, only did itday and I think they are closed on Wednesday, so am waiting to here.
  9. Life is not fair ... this is another example of its injustices And for any smart-asses out there who think you can pick up some good "variety" culls from my Pet Shop - Beware! You will get a horrid surprise when you try to breed them :rip: Are you refering to me Renee as a smart as because I bought a good cull from the pet shop and he through me some real nice birds. Here is a daughter from the bird I got from the pet and her father the pet shop bird Mother
  10. That ain't fair Renee I and alot of other breeders have bought from the pet shop knowing where the breeders sell their cull and then ask for the back ground and they are quite happy to give it to us. Some breeders around here breed too many and just can't keep them all or sell all their culls, so some of the good culls end up in the pet shop, and I am very quilty of this. I have taken quite a few good birds to the pet shop over my time that some one else thinks it's good enough for their breeding program. One of my best birds come from the pet shop with the bloodline I am using, and the breeder gave me his backgorund and that lovely dark green cinnamon hen of mine is his daughter. I call him my pet shop bird as he is the only one I have or have kept from a pet shop.
  11. Sorry about your loss, that's horriable, I always worry about snakes everytime I go out to my breeding room and I have never seen one yet but they have been seen around the house. Big brown ones very deadly. :rip:
  12. No I haven't done it but I will tomorrow as it is not much better and it does look like a big blister full of guck like blood and fluid. Doxy doesn't seem to be helping and make her droppings runny , so means she doesn't need doxy and I read somewhere if you give them doxy when not needed they could become infertile AND I don't want that.
  13. Gee I can't even spell court sorry, Your dad's friend NitsuD? I think we both know who we are talking about, he got I think a $5,000 fine but he almost got a jail term What about those rotten hawks get away with murder.
  14. Pretty please
  15. Very pleased Renee, wish I can say the same about my hen. But she is improving. But then it was much worse than Lou Lou's, so guess it will take time.
