Just a question I have noticed with my breeding that any cock or hen that is opaine has opaine babies I suppose it is % ... Stasky & Margoo each clutch ( apart form the last one) had 1 x Lutino 1 x Clearwing 1x Dilute 2 x opaine's Out of 4 rounds I only got 1 skyblue opaine 1 x White clear wing the rest are yellows and greens ..... But Michael who is a YF2 Opaine his kids (12 ) are all opaine apart from 1 dompied clear wing the mum was a Mauve Clearwing .... i got 1 colbalt out of all of them .....

Hey Kaz, Apart from a make up sponge will another sponge do the job too ... I think that my 2week old may have splayed legs - I give the birds the calivet that i bought from you but I had no nest materials in this time as the hen kept taking them out and using her feathers instead , Chicks joints are red however where the Hip is is darker pink I will try and post a picture Need battereis though

Hey Feathers, My Margoo has done the same thing gotten thinner there is not signs of illness and the Vet check was A okay... Could only put mine down to him feeding the babies.... as all the others are fine so i didn't think it could be heat however he is now 4

Sorry Guys..... But like I have said before everyone should enjoy the excitment and pleasure in breeding Budgies Wether in Breeding Cabinets* or Aviaries - I have been breeding Colony style for about a year and have had one problem with another hen pecking other chick to fight for nest boxes But I have learnt to control the number of hens I breed .... Not everyone can afford or have the set up to breed in cabients. This doesn't make me not love my birds any less . . . . . But what works for me may not work for others - Most of you here all know that I jumped into the whole breeding side before I knew anything and like I said then how are we to learn to drive a car just by reading road rules!!!!!!
