Hanging Seeder Help
I used to use them, but i found them too much trouble. I found that they were not that effective as the husk would sit in the try and had no real chance to escape without my help. I think you are much better off buying a bird bath and using that as a seed dish. That is what I did.

New Guys With Scaley Face..

Greywing & Rec Pied Babies
So the YF gene goes on the same allele as the blue gene? Wow, that is interesting to know. That changes so much in my mind. Interesting to know. So if you have a visual YF bird, does that mean that the bird is YF/b?

Wattle Flights
There are 3 new additions for Wattle flights. I put the birds in earlier as Quiche is going through a moult and I believe that he was stressing a bit in the smaller cage. The stress of moulting, travelling and the smaller cage means that he needed some open space. He cannot fly too well as his flights are just growing back but he seems a lot happier in with a flock. Joining Quiche is his new YF Blue Mate and the GreyGreen hen. :camera: later. Now, I know they were only quarantined from a week, but they came from Kaz's aviary and Cec Gearing's aviary. I am not overly concerned about infection.

Eastern State Auctions
The dearest is easily the Hills Auction. Birds there go fopr multiple thousands of dollars. I will go to the next one, but I will be wearing a straight jacket to avoid any accidental bidding. BRASEA auctions are held in March and October. Birds are of a good quality and a reasonable price. These are the big auctions in terms of numbers, with over 400 birds up for auction. Birds go for as cheap as $20 and go upto $1 or $2000. I have never been to any other auctions, but that may change sooner than I could well imagine.

I Will Miss You, Karren
Hang on, you said she was very old. Then you said you got her as a baby. She died at 5 years old. That is not very old. Was she sick before her death Hayden? Could she have passed her illnes on to others?

Hi
Don't rush it. it will take a while for the hen to get used to the idea of the breeding box, for them to mate, then for an egg to be layed. You think that is bad, it takes 18 days form when the hen first sits on the eggs until the egg hatches. That 18 days seems like forever to us novice breeders. Patience my friend. If it is mean to happen, it will. Have you put some wood shavings in the bottom of the box or anything. One of the signs that my hens are getting ready to lay eggs is that they "prepare" the nest, usually by throwing out or rearranging the shavings.

Omelette.....my Foundation Hen
Not sure it is all abotu luck Renee. Anyone can buy a bird at an auction, it does pay to be selective and to know what you are after, to consult with the breeders regarding what you are buying. Yes, it is good for Karen to have such a good bird, but to put it all down to luck. It is not a raffle, it is an auction. A little different I think

Injured Leg.....
Sorry, wish i was wrong, but I have had to do it myself. Nothing can be done I am afraid.

Injured Leg.....
You might need to take her to an avian vet. If her hip is out, there is really nothing that can be done to fix it. I have had birds like this that I have had to send to a better place. I am sorry to hear this. Put some calcivet in the water to help her keep her bones strong. Not much i can add here I am afraid.

Wattle Flights
Hayden, that post was made in 2008. Humphrey and Athena are at my sister's place, Pegasis is dead, Oscar has bred once, Aprhodite the YF is at my sister's, Sebby and Cheese were given away to a friend's family, and they have bred again since. Angel (the albino shaking it out at the end there) also went with Sebby and Cheese. Read a whole thread though, look at the date at the top of the post (left of the middle) and comment on the recent stuff, not the really old stuff. Hang on, that is not fair, comment on what you want buddy, just make sure you look at the date first, then decide if you still want to comment. you may want to, it is your call. In regard to all the birds, I do have a soft spot for Humphrey and I go talk to him every time I go to my sister's place. I do miss Sebby though. She was a little b@%ch who bit like anything, always wanted her own way, but she was great. I need to go see her again...soon. Might go for a drive in my new car tomorrow.

Why Is My Budgie Sitting On The Ground All The Time?
you said in anther post that your mum was letting you keep a bird inside. This is the one you choose first until health is recovered.
