  1. Here goes the 'pied discussiong' again... I think that's a YF2 dom pied.. looks quite like a recessive though, but I think this time the wing patterns make me think otherwise. MOre of a dom pied marking. the clear primary feathers and the patterning on the top of the wing/shoulder blade thing area... if that made sense. I could be so very wrong here.. hehehehe..
  2. Juleslou.. can I ask which city farmer's you went to that still sells budgies? I haven't seen one that sell budgies in a long long time!
  3. Cheeta replied to Daz's topic in Breeders Discussion
hey, that is a good idea!!
  4. I think they are both boys.. they are gorgeous by the way!!
  5. Blossom looks exactly like my Chase, except Chase is mauve instead of blue. have a look at this thread for her photo. http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....opic=12533&st=0 Chase is around 9 months old I think... and no iris rings. and also her parents were both recessive pied.
  6. (Laughing out loud), I think you need take a number and queue up for her... a few people have got their eyes on her too!! (Laughing out loud).. She is gorgeous isn't she.. I like the soft pastely colour on her
  7. Kaz, trooper looks great up on the top perch... I hope he'll be sleeping up high soon as well.. :ausb: Daniel has a very kind heart... he can't say no to people... hehehe, which is good for me... that's why I've got 21 budgies at the moment.. (Laughing out loud)
  8. yes I was wondering about the spangling on the wings. I wonder if she is a spangle with very thick marking on the wings instead of the pencil line marking.. . oh the willy wagtail babies are cute. :ausb:
  9. (Laughing out loud)... no actually, that's one of the few bought ones that we had... th ey are the reason why hubby decided to try his hand on making ladders for the budgies.. They just chew them so quickly!! so it was going to be cheaper making them ourselves than buying new ones to replace the chewed up one.. (Laughing out loud)
  10. thanks ladies. Lovey, I think you might be right there...
  11. I think Bluey and the rest of the gang in the aviary were a bit shocked to find a sudden increase in numbers in their home turf... Chase and Blondie are both gorgeous birds... though Chase is a bit on the viscious side when it comes to being handle! Blondie is a bit more subdue. Oh believe it or not, Spirit is a boy... he's done the jiggy with Blondie before. They are paired up now. You wouldn't think that Spirit is a boy from the cere's colour though would you. but unless it is one confused budgies, it's safe to say that Spirit is a boy. much to Blondie's approval. I've had Miss Bossy for a long long time actually.. She's been with me since February... I think you might have mistaken someone else for me.. or unless you remembered my saying I wanted a YF1 spangle... not YF2.. Quake... yes he's the one I mentioned in another topic saying that it's 'normal' to have just part blue on the cere. He's a very gentle bird. Yes I have four indoor budgies... Mr Attitude, Tango, Lemon and of course Goofyboy.
  12. awww, poor Ozzie... sulking in the corner.. Blinkie and cookie sure looks like he had lots of fun eating the mash!!
  13. Are they all hand tamed? and do you have a picture of your cage? it looks like a great cage! I mean from your signature picture.
  14. Hi Feathers.. Good to have you with us.. another 'Perthian'. Budgies are addictive arent they. I started off with two budgies from my mother in law, and now have 21... I hope Adalard will get better soon with his molt/baldness... cheers
  15. They are so gorgeous!! I especially like Keely! gorgeous girl.
  16. awww, what cuties! I also do love that first picture of Lutea... love the little feathers sticking out.. hehe
  17. Lovey reminded me that I haven't posted pics in awhile.. so here I am.. I uploaded them to another, and I can't be bothered resizing all the pics so here's the link the page of pics. My aviary budgies
  18. awww, what a cutie pie. I'm so glad he's come such a long way... sorry to hear that you'll have to let them go though.. :hap: I bet you'll miss the little ones. Good job for taking such great care of them all.
  19. Sammi, if there's no iris rings then they would be recessive pied, but like Lovey asked, do you know how old your birds are? this would help. Also do you have a picture of Frost back? I'd like to see if Frost has opaline in there somewhere. Rainbow, yes Chase does have the dom pied look. :fear but definitely a recessive. She is now more bluey mauve, rather that that 'greyish' mauve since she molted a few months ago. Lovey, I'll just pack them up in a flat pack and send them your way..... :hap: Kidding..
  20. good to see that the little guy is going along so nicely with his new ladder. and just look at Dancer with little Trooper. they are such great mates again. :hap:
  21. yes you're right, sex-linked gene uses a totally different gene strand.. so I guess it would be possible. may be a clear back picture or two of Frost may help. and also a picture of the front as well would help tremendously.
  22. Check out this page for percentage on clearbody offsprings. http://www.budgerigars.co.uk/rares/clbodies/clbds.html
  23. Cheeta replied to Boris' Slave's topic in Budgie Behaviour
(Laughing out loud).. that is too funny!! a meowing budgie! never thought I'd ever hear that.
  24. yeah I was looking at the picture again after posting Chase's pics... I was wondering if it's possible to have opaline gene in a recessive pied pied... that may possibly (if it's possible at all) put the grey colour where the opaline usually colour up on the back of the neck and around the side as well. It's just that the head barring on Frost kinda remind me of of an Opaline bird. You're right, Chase has that white patch which does make it a lot more recessive looking. :hap: OT... Goofy is going great.. he's doing the jiggy with my little fatty Lemon (who is on the diet - she still has about 5 grams to loose). Oh yes Blondie... Karen wants her back as well... I was thinking about returning her, but then she is now so very bonded to one of my boys, I can't bare to split those two up.. :hap: and I'll see to getting some pics up soon.. I'll be taking some pics tomorrow out in the aviary... I have six brand new quail babies fluff ball running around the aviary, so I'll be out there with my camera. :fear
  25. glad to hear those two are starting on the 'right path' for a family. keep us updated with these two. :hap:
