If You Dont Believe In Karma?
It is quite amazing to watch Liv. I have seen it quite a few times. It starts 24 hours or more with them chipping away inside all the way around the egg and then pushing and squirming till they are out!! Wish I had videoed it!!After 3 hours and he had still not been fed so I put him under another hen who is sitting on very young ones as well so he wouldnt get any weaker (he wasnt moving much and not chirping). He has now been fed. If his mother gets the hang of feeding her chicks once the rest of the eggs hatch, I will put him back under her, if not he will stay where he is.

If You Dont Believe In Karma?
Today I drove down to Deb's place to deliver her two chicks that had been plucked by their mother and I had put them in with an excellent forster mother I have. All their feathers had grown back and were looking gorgeous! Well just after I got home I checked on my expectant mothers and found a tiny pink lttle blob half way out of its egg! I rushed upstairs and grabbed the camera but by that time it was completely out and here' s the bub only 30 seconds old. So if you do a good deed for someone, its great when good things come your way too!!! Geez, its only just hatched! Go away with your flashing lights please!! I did a good job, eh??

Holding Babies In The Nest
Hi Neat I handle all my chicks of a night (or whenever I have lots of spare time). I take them out of the nest one at a time and bring them up inside and handle them. The mothers dont mind as long as you put them back! They usually try and find somewhere to hide like inside the sleeve of your jumper but eventually they will be comfortable in your hands. If you do this everyday for 20 minutes or more if you've got the time they will become very tame.

Winter Breeding In An Outdoor Avairy - Can It Work?
I am currently breeding my budgies but they are in an enclosed area in the warmth of our garage. Even then I lost two newly hatched chicks I am presuming from the cold. But other than them I havent had any other problems. I think its a bit too chilly though to be breeding them outside.
