  1. My vet recommmended WORMOUT GEL and I think that can be bought in pet stores. The only thing I dont like about it is it goes off quicker than a liquid does and you end up throwing it out and its a waste.
  2. The main door on mine is the right way up
  3. Don't know if newspaper would have anything to do with it, but just in case the print is dangerous, I use natural white paper towel on the bottom of my budgie's cage. Maddie..................no different. White paper towel is treated with bleaches anyway.
  4. Well done with the door. It looks great If you turned the cage front upside down you wouldnt have to have cut any bars off your cages
  5. With your talent for pairing all you need now is cooperation from the birds. Best of luck
  6. If you have treated with scatt and mite spray you have got any mites they have. Its got to be something else.
  7. Easter long weekend and the forums been a bit quiet due to that.......views can also mean guests not necessarily forum members. I, for one, have been busy disassembling a large parrot aviary with my husband ready to reassemble at our new house for his Princess Parrots. I just want to say........your spangles look just great. You'd want to be pretty pleased with them BUT based on cere colour I dont think either are in the best of breeding condition at all and wouldnt have a nestbox on the cage either at this stage.

You can get show breeders culls for around $30-$50 upwards. Better birds around the $150- $300 mark, and some top breeders birds at auctions go for thousands.
  9. Our addresses are not freely available here unless we give it out. A THIEF WILL ALWAYS FIND A WAY NO MATTER WHAT.

Daz has put up here somewhere plans for breeding cabinets and nestboxes and is very helpful to anyone in budgies. He is a great guy.............I know him well. We met at the nationals in Busselton a few years ago and I have some of his birds bloodlines within my own. Daz was one of the original ADMINS of this forum. I have his contact details if you need them. If you are on Facebook, we have a massive worldwide group of " friends" on there all show budgie related worldwide including all the big names in show budgies, like Jo Mannes, Jac Cuyten, and many more.
  11. There isnt much flesh of the fruit...its mostly a pip. The texture of the fruit is kind of like hardish melon. The taste isnt all that great and needs to be made into jams to bring out the flavour.

Welcome Clint You posted your first post into another topic so I have put it where it should have been .
  15. Try topping the chicks up with a dropper of food for a few feeds till they are stronger, squark loud enough and see if the parents feed them when a few days older.
  16. Stay Safe Selling your Birds from Home This is some advice for anyone selling birds from home. In light of a scammer / bird thief being in the Perth Metro area and cruising around Gumtree advertising site recently, people need to learn to protect themselves. If you have birds for sale, catch them up from your aviary and have them in a cage for viewing nowhere near your aviary....where the buyer can see them without seeing the rest of your birds. Do not feel the need to proudly show off your bird aviary to strangers. A known bird thief will check out your aviary security or not and come back at a more opportune time ( as a convicted bird thief we know of does here in perth ). Never ever divulge your movements such as when you will and wont be home. A perth based bird thief is known to elicit this info from unsuspecting sellers over the phone and upon a visit to return at a time you arent home and steal your birds. A perth based convicted bird thief has done just this several times. Dont be swayed by a minor sale as this bird thief often buys the first cheap bird just to gain access to your aviary info and your movements. Dont trust anyone you dont know. ALWAYS have change in your pocket for any sales. A known bird thief has been known to show up with a hundred dollar note to buy a bird. Owner has to go inside for change and the bird thief then grabs other birds and put inside his clothing. This is a known scam from a Perth based bird thief. He has made off with birds in his pockets and down his trousers. If you are rehoming your birds ( offering them for free ) make sure the person collecting them is a reputable bird person. Many take free birds just to breed them to death and some take free birds as a way of casing your home for future thefts. Better you ask a fee for birds you wish to rehome and seek out a more responsible bird person. People who ask for free birds or say they are a bird rescue must show proof of what and who they are. A recent advertiser on gumtree who posted an advert wanting free birds for rescue is a scammer and bird thief. Thank goodness Gumtree staff finally wised up with assistance from the public. Some who say they are bird rescues are taking these free birds and onselling them or breeding with them whether or not the birds are fit for breeding. Birds have been known to be rehomed under an agreement that the birds are retired and too old for breeding safely and later the person who offered up their birds has found them being bred to death for monetary gain and living in appalling conditions. The perth based bird thief I speak of has been convicted of bird and reptile thefts, aviary thefts and this is still ongoing right now. In short trust noone !!! There are scammers in your area. There are thieves in your area. They are everywhere.
