My Aviary....start To Finish
Redoing my birdroom while all the birds are not breeding. I am changing the cabinet setup in there so they go all around the walls in a U shape and keep the middle of the room free for more light. It means making two corner cabinets to use the corners of the room more efficiently too. I am also redoing the countertop and sink, locating the sink more in the middle of the countertop for ease of use, more space each side of the sink, and so its more under the window. It does mean I have to redo the countertop which is a pain but it will be better than it is now.

My Cage Setup
Yeah, just ignore the perch setup at the moment! The cage only came with two (??????) and I won't use them when I get the eucalyptus branches tomorrow. I remember reading somewhere that it's good to have the branches upside down. Why is this? What do you mean by upside down Maybe its about any thin sticks still on the branches. If the budgie has alegring thin branches will get caught on a legring sometimes

Help!
I understand mate...I really do.........you are stuck between a rock and a hard place. BUT.......you need to get your Dad to understand you are making INFORMED decisions based on sound knowledge and good advice.
-
Help!
Then its waste of time asking for help if you cant make decisions for yourself based on what you know and what we advise. Your dad needs to read this forum.

Help!
Remove him immediately !!!!! Treat him ,like any sick budgie with seperation and warmth and good food. Your female will manage with her chicks...make sure she has good and easy to access food. He is more important right now...do not take chances with his health. Put white paper under his perch in the seperate cage and check his droppings.

American Budgie With English Budgie
A thing to be considered also is.............. advice given three years ago by some people would also be different to advice given NOW. Just as Novices would know a certain amount when starting out and then by the time they move on and even up into open breeders.......would advise differently with time and knowledge. Delving into old topics and old old advice would not necessarily equate to advice given if this topic and others was posted on the forum TODAY. Delete old topics then? Old topics are our history and our research material. its up to YOU to check the date on them

My Cage Setup
You have a food or water bowl directly under a perch .........it will foul. Turn the cuttlebone vertical or the budgie will use it to sit on. Hang the swing in the highest peak and out of the way of flying across the cage.............add another perch top left so the bird can fly across the cage freely. You have no perches set up for flying across the cage Some of the toys can hang from the iside sides of cage to take up less space...they will still play with them like that.
