  1. Not cinnamon JB.......staining from breathing. Can be respiratory issue.
  2. A rainbow budgie is a made up or common usage name to descibe a composite vartiety bird as far as I know................ Clearwing, opaline, yellow face, in blue series. What is a " proper Rainbow" budgie then ? I found another took 2 seconds on photobucket edit feature. and here is its brother
  3. Thank you, I hadn't noticed, I should have looked harder. What is the main difference between baby hens and baby boys? I notice some of the girls seem to have lighter ceres with a slight ring around the nostrils, but I saw that on a few baby boys as well. Rule of thumb is any white on a cere is female even if there is blue with the white
  4. Look in the http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index.php?showforum=97 what sex is my budgie forum ( where you posted this ) and you will see an article on CERES
  5. More babies again !! Woo hoo............cant wait to see what you get this time

Why use flours ? Its a little too processed. A simpler soft food can be made with porridge type oats, polenta, wheatgerm or semolina would be fine plus you extras. Flours to my way of thinking are too finely processed.
  7. Female budgie as Elly said. As we have seen many lovebird attacks on budgies over time I would not house them together.
  8. I'm confused too. You have only just discovered she was a girl budgie BUT we already told you she was one. Maybe you are worrying about egglaying POSSIBILITIES just because she is female. No need to worry about things that havent happened.
  9. this ORANGE budgie is on a reputed top breeders website ' ANYONE can see its been photoshopped History of the camera The first photograph was taken in 1814 by Nicéphore Niépce using a sliding wooden box camera made by Charles and Vincent Chevalier in Paris Cameras have been around forever As goes with the topic heading No dyes or minerals Pretty though....I'm gonna breed me some of these !!
  10. urban legends can always be made real by the presence of photos.

  12. Cool ............good to know
  13. Someone else's topic........no biggie. Mentioned in the latest mite topic plus had to get a quarantined bird treated for canker.
  14. I took three birds to the vet today myself so I understand both your anxiety and your financial pain :fingerscrossed:
  15. PM each other and work out the details :fingerscrossed:
  16. Yeah. I used the spot on the first time, then also ran some along the affected feathers. Gave it a few days, then pulled the affected flights out and burnt them. More time in the quarantine cage. New feathers grew in and have quill mites still. Drenched in A.I.L. as per vets advice, also gave S76 in water as per vets advice. I now wait to see if we have won the battle. Have we won the battle against Feather quill mites ??? Yes we have !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Birds went to the vet for tests and got the all clear today .......................treatment that finally worked ? More A.I.L drenchings and S76 in their water
  17. Looking good !!
  18. I'd be inclined to use Coccivet.

the book is on ebay UK http://cgi.ebay.com.au/THE-BUDGERIGAR-MAN-...=item19ba51243a
  20. In your previous topic about Pimms we said she was a girl budgie too. Some females lay eggs without males. It doesnt happen like it does with hens ( chickens ). Something is usually a trigger for a femasle to begin laying eggs without a male. Older females sometimes do it. Feamles who have places or things in the cage that resemble nests or nesting sites will. It isnt a common thing for females to lay eggs on their own although it does happen.

Possibly, I've got an old book that tells me to build everything out of Asbestos... not sure that would be a commonly held view nowadays... :fingerscrossed: I'd love the Publisher info if you could get it for me that would be wonderful! I have that book here somewhere JB........bought a copy for me and one for Daz too a year or two ago The Budgerigar Man By Roy Stringer I believe that this book is a masterpiece that is a tribute to the genius that was Harry Bryan. The reason I like the book so much is because of it has the ability to portray a life times work which was Harry Bryans life. This book proves, like so many Fanciers already know that Harry Bryan was a true genius in his own rights, the book also contains themed to know facts that all budgerigar fanciers wish to find out about. I saw this book as being an inspiration to all budgerigar fanciers alike as it is a smart, catchy and Informative book which is a must For the beginner to the champion. Unfortunately Harry passed away some time ago however, he is remembered as being the master of the budgerigar fancy, winning the world championship show 27 times in 29 years. It is an achievement to win the show once, but Harry kept on firing the quality stock out and winning on the show bench.
