Working out expectations and percentages for breeding pairs in a colony breeding situation is maybe expecting a little too much re fidelity of the birds in there. You may well have surprises you didnt count on

Double Yolker Budgie Eggs
If you see the egg develop dark lines or staining on the shell at some point it will indicate the chicks died before they fully developed.

Why Can't We Import Budgies From The U.k. Anymore ?
Yeah. I cannot fathom why pigeons can come in and not budgies.

Double Yolker Budgie Eggs
You will find that most of them ( 99%) at least will die before hatching as they run out of space in the egg to develop properly. Use the search function on BBC and punch in a search for twins and see what comes up. I have had successful twins once and still have one of them here. I also had two lots that died partway through developing. http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....83&hl=twins http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....29&hl=twins

Aviary Vs. Indoor
Noone has any idea as there has been no studies done that I know of. How can you expect anyone to have this answer for you ?? It would have to come from someone who has documented the results and kept both outside aviary birds and indoor pet birds who get time out ?? If you wanted a different answer perhaps you need to reword your first question ??
