  1. Once I actually found a budgie with splayed legs in a pet shop (I didn't know what is it at the time, so I thought it's some bad illness), I told them about it and they actually asked me what do I thing is wrong with the budgie and what shoud they do , they should know things like this when they sell animals !!! I told them I don't know what's wrong and they must take him to a vet. I hope this one has more luck (it's a different shop). They even sell big parrots like Cockatoos, African greys, Amazons, etc. so they should be experienced
  2. okay, I'll try. Thanks a lot (but some of the translations sound very funny :(Laughing out loud): . For some mutations we use english words, which is easier for me - like opaline)
  3. Yesterday I went to a pet shop to buy some seeds and doggie treats and of course I couldn't resist looking at the birds. The first think I could see was an albino budgie attacking another budgie, after that the other budgie had bleeding eye and it looked like he actually lost the eye . I told the shop assistant, so I hope he will do something about it. I really hope he will . I felt like I should buy him and help him, but since we've moved, my avian vet is far from us and my husband doesn't really want to drive me there all the time . But I feel bad The albino budgie was one nasty bird, she was protecting the food fowl like crazy and pushed all other budgies away I just wanted to share, as I cannot stop thinking about it . I hope the budgie will be lucky and gets treatment and maybe finds an owner who will have him as a single pet (And of course they had beautiful YF violet babies in there. When I was looking for them, they had none )
  4. Thanks a lot, but I'm affraid I'm not able to transate this mutation to czech . I have no idea what they call it here. But thanks a lot for your help
  5. My budgie's lump looked like this, she had it in the same place, but on the inside of the wing. I hope it's not so serious and he'll be okay.
  6. Hi, I can't work out their mutation , they look similar, but the first one seem to have black eyes and the second one red eyes. I thought they might be pieds? And I guess they are both females, right? They are not mine, I'm just helping out Thanks a lot I don't know if the photo shows it, but this one has some mauve/grey on her chest, neck And this one has some green on her belly
  7. No, I don't. I tried to find some pictures on the internet, but I can't find any. If I do, I will post it. I found this website, there is a picture (not a nice one :glare: ) of a fat tumour. My budgie's lump looked similar, but much smaller (like a green pea size) and it was under her wing. http://www.avianweb.com/fattumours.html
  8. It sounds like the lump my budgie Giny had. I was on her wing as well, fleshy colored. The vet said it might be cancer or not. She would have to cut it off and check. But we decided not to do it, as it would be a risk for such a small bird - she said. Later another little lump grew on her other wing, but then she somehow scratched it open, it was bleeding a bit. But then the little one just disappeared :glare: . But Giny was quite old and my vet said budgies get lumps often. She died not long ago. But maybe it's just a fat lump. I hope it is and Chip will be okay, good luck :angel1:

That's cool you can keep them, they are lucky budgies It happens to me too with the photos being too large here, but showing the right size in photobucket. I always try it more times (delete it and insert again) and normally it works . Don't know why it does it :glare:
  13. Beautiful budgies

Hi and welcome, your budgies are pretty  . Hope everything goes well with the chicks
  17. I use Ivermectin over here too. So maybe your vet can give you some too. I always get a full syringe, so I have it at home if needed. My vet told me to put a drop on the big vein under the wing (it gets into the system), I find it easier then on the beak - I would be afraid to block the budgie's nose
  18. They are very cute
  19. Kaz, do you know what kind of hibiscus you give to your birds? Maybe I can get it here . I'm trying to find the right Eucalyptus for ages, but I'm afraid to use the once they sell here  Thanks a lot
