  5. Nice aviary and setup . We also build our own aviaries. As it's not easy over here to get nice big aviary for small birds.

Most people will react at first if your not used to stings, but allergic People get allergic through having stings & then becoming allergic to them. Bees mostly will only sting if you touch their hive or if you squash one. I don't know if it's possible, but when I was a baby my mum used to give me honey to stop crying - which was very often. But I don't think I can get allergy from this . All my live I thought I'm allergic (my parents told me) and now when I went for tests, they were something like 0.3 % for bees and nothing for wasps . So no serious at all I guess. It's just the fear I have to fix now :(Laughing out loud): . I even broke our camera last year - I dropped it as I was running away from a wasp :hap: . At the same time my wedding ring flew away (but we found it ), silly me I just found out one of our new neighbours has bees, so we will be having lots of fun in summer :(Laughing out loud):

If your not allergic to bee stings after some time you don’t usually swell up anymore, as your body adjusts, but allergic people can die in a couple of minutes, from shock. I have been keeping bees for about 46 years, it still hurts, some times more than others depending where you get stung, if it’s a sensitive part like your finger tips, but they say that beekeepers cut of the pain signal to the brain…but after the initial pain it usually goes away. I think I'm allergic - at least I was a couple of years ago - I went for a tests. But they said I'm allergic only a little bit. I don't think I would die. I like bees, they don't fly over to you to sting you, like wasps do :hap:
  12. Budgies actually in the wild chew out holes in trees and such to build their nests to this behavior is actually very instinctual . Yes I know, I'm happy they've got fun, but it's horrible as they made many holes in the room , they dig till they get to the bricks and then they carry on to the sides - silly girls. But the plaster is not too deep, so it would be very difficult for them to actually lay in there. But we will put some wood on the whole wall I think :glare: Zebra, maybe you could put some mesh on that wall ? Yes maybe, we have to try what is going to stop them . I have some mesh left and also some flat wood.
  13. Good luck with the eggs

  20. They are all cuties. Sorry for the little one
  21. I don't breed, but a couple of my females started to fight a bit after I've moved the birds into their new aviary, as there is a wall on one side and they found out, they can make holes in the plaster. So the females dig holes (probably think they can nest in there :budgiedance: ) and then they fight over it. So I keep covering the holes .
