Eeeeekkkkkk
Yesterday my husband found 12 dead pink mice under a cupboard in the budgie room. So I guess we've killed the mother. It's horrible that only one little mouse can have so many babies. And they can breed when they're very young :hap: I've also had a couple of traps empty and cheese was gone, I don't know how the mice do it :budgiedance: But a couple of times we caught 3 mice in one trap at the same time, which is very cool I hope you get rid of them, mice are horrible...

Is My Budgie Sick?
Birdshop or pet store....sulpha Quin or Sulpha 3 about $12 Kaz, may I just ask what does this liquid look like? Is it like a acidy liquid or something? I don't think I can get it here, but maybe I can get something similar. Thanks a lot Djelibaybi, I hope Pickles gets better soon

New Aviary...
I've got 24 budgies and 4 tiels, they don't get time together now, but live right next to each other. I know it's not the same, but I think they will be fine. I'll see, I can always take them out if there is a problem.

New Aviary...
As some of you might remember we've planned to build new aviaries for my birds outside, using an old piggy house. But because our first baby is coming soon (in a couple of weeks ) and we don't have so much time to fix the old piggy house, etc. and we really need to move the birds out, as my husband found out he has a feather allergy (so there is a chance the baby will have it too), so we decided to buy a glass house and turn it into an aviary, I think it will work and later, we will attach it to the fixed piggy house - before the winter comes. The only thing I didn't want to do, but I don't have much of choice now - I will have to put the budgies and the tiels together, as if I separated the glass house, they wouldn't have so much space . But I guess some of you here have them together and they are okay, right? I'm definately not going to colony breed, so they should be fine, I hope  I have lots of spare cages, so if there are any fights I can take the tiels out. The glass house is about 3,1m long, 2,5m wide and 1,9m high, I will take some pictures when we finish it Yesterday we've built the metal construction and today hopefully we will continue.

Eeeeekkkkkk
I'm dealing with mice in the bird room as well :hap: I bought a one kilo bucket of Virkon S and I clean everything with it. I was told by my avian vet that I can use it inside the aviary, it shouldn't hurt the birds as long as they don't drink it. So there mustn't be any drops of the solution left. So I wash things and dry them straight away. And I only make a mild solution. I'm trying anything as I've already lost 4 budgies due to mice And I also wash everything with very hot water. And we have traps around the aviaries and every day I catch at least one mouse. And our 2 dogs also help - the bigger one catches them and the small one eats them . Which must stop, as the mice could be poisoned

Ivermectin - No Longer The Recommended Treatment For Mites?
I use Ivermectin as well. My vet gives it to me in a syringe, she writes on it that it's 1%, so I guess she mixes it as well. The only think she warned me about is that if you put too much on the cere, it could get into the nose, but she told me I can put a drop under the wing and it does the same job and it doesn't matter if I drop too much. I would also be afraid to use spray on birds.

Woolley Mammoth?
Honestly I don't know. Maybe one of the show breeders will see and be able to answer for you. Honestly I don't know. Maybe one of the show breeders will see and be able to answer for you. It doesnt matter which leg you put the legring on. Most of mine end up on the left leg as its easier for me to do the left leg. and I find it easier on the right!! (plus its the Virgo coming out in me- I like them all to match!) Thanks, I was just wondering . I never thought about it before...

Woolley Mammoth?
He is so cute . I can see that the parents have their leg bands on different legs, does it matter which leg do you put the band on? Or is it up to the breeder?
