  2. Hi and welcome I will also love to see you budgies , they sound wonderful. Hope you find all your answers here
  3. I'm so sorry Kaz He was gorgeous. We are having bad time too, no animals died, but one morning we didn't close the gate properly and our two dogs run away. I had to chase them around in dark, and as they don't really listen, it wasn't easy :hap: . I thought I will never see them again, a car could run over them or something. But luckily I got them. We must be much more careful :hap: And our only car broke down, so more bad staff :hap:

  7. Hi Gumleaf My budgies do it all the time - it does look very freeky :(Laughing out loud):
  8. All the birds and babies are gorgeous Kaz. I'm so sorry about Barnsie , he was beautiful !!! And sorry about the attacked baby budgie. My boy Mayo had the same - his dad bit both his wing tips off when he was one day old. Plus he also bit some of his toes off :rip:
  9. Yes, she is crested. It's actually first crested budgie I've seen here. I think they are quite rare here. I didn't even know how they call them in czech
  10. Good luck with the clutch I was just wondering what is in the last picture :(Laughing out loud): . Is it an egg?
  11. Thanks a lot . I'm happy I didn't give her wrong advise. That's what I think as well
  12. One girl asked if this budgie is a girl of boy. I think it a girl and it scratched half of her cere. But I was almost attacked by one boy telling me, that this budgie has mites, so I cannot tell the sex. It doesn't look like mites to me, I think mites would look different on the brown side, what do you think? And do you think it's really a girl as I thought? Thanks a lot I don't want to give wrong advise, but I was so sure
  13. Thank you :hap:
  14. Hi Kristy and Zeus :rip: , welcome !!!
  15. The 3 new girls joined the rest this weekend. They had a little shock from the space, but after a little while they started to chew the perches and tried to make friends :rip: .
  16. Zebra replied to Vickykh's topic in Budgie Pictures
They look very cute together :rip:
  17. I have lots of flat perches in my new aviary and most of the birds sleep laying down now. It scared me the first day, I thougth they are sick. But I think they are okay, and look more comfortable :rip:
  18. Zebra replied to Bec Sta's topic in Budgie Pictures
They are all very cute, nice pics :rip:
  19. I use liquid vitamins, but it has orange juice in it I think, and it only colors the water slightly yellow and I think it also makes it sweet, so they still drink it with no problem :rip: .
  20. Zebra replied to Daz's topic in Budgie Safety
:rip: Very good :hap: Poor parrot, it must have been a shock seeing the turkey :hap:
  21. I'm just wondering if the officer would handle all your birds if you had like 30 of them :rip: :hap: , I think he would change his mind after a couple...
  22. Yes, but most vets here would be specialized in dogs and cats. I think it's because they are the most common pets here. Even my avian vet told me there is another avian vet at the vet school in our city and another is in Prague (the main city). But maybe there are more, but I've never heard of them
  23. How horrible. I can't believe they check all the staff you say. They should be able to see if you are taking good care of them. What would they do if one of the budgies got a heard attack from being handled by a stranger !!! He should be reported then I cannot imagine what would they say if they've seen some of the breeder's aviaries here in czech. Some of them have birds in with pigs, or very messy aviaries, etc. But no one here will come and check it, if I call them
  24. Yes, but not many shop assistant will like a customer coming to them and telling them what to do . The guy didn't look happy when I told him about it, but he said something like - he will have to catch him. I like this shop, so I hope they will take care of the bird. The thing is I just found out there are only 3 avian vets in the whole republic (that's what I've heard from lots of breeders), so the chance that people will travel far for one budgie who costs like $8 here is not good . So I don't know if they will bother . But I guess normal vet would be better then nothing.
