Big Chest?
I hope I'm allowed to post this, if not I'm sorry and please delete it :grbud: One girl on the czech forum asked about her budgie, if he is too fat. But it looks a bit like a lipoma or something. The post is a month old, but I told her she should take him to a vet. What do you think it could be? Have you seen it before? All 3 pics is the budgie. Thanks a lot Link - sick budgie?

An Opinion Please
Mum is fighting wild birds for years and the last couple of years she always builds something what looks like "an aviary" :(Laughing out loud): around the strawberries, so the wild birds don't eat them. But somehow they get inside anyway :grbud:

Which Kinds Of Beans?
Yes, my budgies always eat early in the morning and late afternoon - I think that's what they do in nature. So I feed them these times and they eat almost anything I give them :grbud: I just thought I would make them a nice egg food with veggies and beans - so they get more nutritions, because it's winter.

Black Seeds In Canary Food?
Yes, it's round. I thought it could be Rape seed, but I couldn't find a picture of the seeds on the internet - only the plants. The mix has quite a lot of this seed, but I still mix it with millet (which I buy from a breeder), so they won't be getting too much of the fatty seeds :grbud: . I know Rape seed plants are poisonous for rabbits, so I wanted to make sure it's okay for birds.

Black Seeds In Canary Food?
Yesterday I bought a canary mix, as they didn't have the good budgie mix I normally buy. I remember reading that canary mix is okay for budgies, but I don't know if they put the same types of seed in canary mix here. There is not the list of ingredients, so I don't know the name of the black seeds, but they are round, smaller then millet and black. Do you think it okay? Thanks a lot for any suggestions

Which Kinds Of Beans?
I found some posts about beans, but couldn't find which kinds are okay to feed. One post said Mung beans - I've seen Mungo beans here (little green beans), is it the same? Or what other kinds of beans do you feed? I would like to cook them and mash them into the egg food - is that okay? Thanks a lot

An Opinion Please
I think some people say no to strawberries because very often they are treated with some chemicals (from shop) and they rot quickly. But if they are from your own garden, washed I think they are okay to give them. But take it away after a while, so it doesn't rot. I give our garden strawberries to my birds sometimes and they like it

We Are Building New Aviaries
Still not done , it started to snow yesterday, so we have to sort out other things now - so we don't freeze . But I almost finished the aviary roof yesterday - I actually enjoy doing it, it's not perfect, but I think roof (mesh) doesn't need to be 100% straight as long as it's safe My husband works very hard at work and fixing the house, so I thought he should have some time off and I did the aviary roof

I Dont Think My New Budgie Is Eating.
All new bird(s) should be in quarantine for about a month before you put them together with your current bird(s) - so if the new bird(s) are sick or something, so your current bird(s) don't get it too. The quarantine cage shoud also be in a different room then the current bird(s). It's always easier to treat one bird then all birds (in case of illness). You don't need to give any medications, if the new bird is healthy. It's good to take him to vet for check up if you can just to make sure he is okay, or just watch him for any signs of illness
