  2. Awe I miss that innocent look in Pretty's eyes, it is in my avator you made for me . Merlin never looks that way just grumpy because of the show in him. Those are great pics. Is Fizzy really tamed now for Tim?

  10. Glad you figured it out Kaz because everytime I did a search that is what I continued to come across that and clearwings
  11. both parents are blue so that is all you will ever have with these 2 is a blue based bird to get any greens you would need to pair with a green bird. The dark factors will come into play and determine sky blue, cobalt or mauve. Beautiful babies , they are feathering up wonderfully
  12. Ino and cinnamon = lacewing so ino doesn't mask cinnamon Since the ino's are both hens it means that dad is split for the ino gene beautiful clutch
  13. good to hear she is still happy , keep us updated on her she is a very special budgie to our forums.

beautiful pictures & congrats. your last budgie as with a couple of them is an opaline that is why the markings may look a bit different. In the nest did the parents pluck at the back of the head that you may have seen this could be why or it is just growing in and will settle down. Can you post a picture of the parents again

I need to see a bird before I can name them that is me though. When you get your budgie a picture would be great.

Do you have the genetics on these birds and pairs? that is the next question that was asked
  19. His throat spots have changed to big round spots on 3 on each side evenly if he has them all. I will find a pics. Personality wise they are not as flighty. Calmer, gentlier bird for sure. Healthywise I believe in theory only that show birds (not all) are breed more for quality, health vs your pet store where you find them everywhere and they are more milled. This could cause a debate this is only my opinion. Pretty sadly passed away before the age of 2y (just 3 months ago), Merlin was healthy throughout the whole ordeal (fingers crossed he continues to be healthy). There are many such as my grandma who had a pet budgie for 18 yrs and then there are also show budgies that live that long too. So many factors to review. This is Merlin now he is considered aka english (show or exhibition) but he is not of quality as Daz's birds above that are show birds. There are show birds that are not cut out for shows that are pet birds (many are)
  20. these are great examples, I am going to add to the FAQ article about Breeding Condition vs Scaley Face
  21. Elly replied to Tal's topic in New to BBC
From the picture and not seeing the back of the bird I would say a normal gray
  22. BBC FAQ English vs American (show vs pet) Pet Budgie this is my late Pretty Show aka Exhibition budgie this is feathers (Aly's new bird) Merlin in my siggy is part show budgie As for english not appealing to you that is okay but I have to say once I got my Merlin who is part I fell in love with this variety there is a difference in personality from what I see and even in health . Here is Merlin as a baby this is more what baby englishes look like plus you can check out Kaz, Norms, and other show breeders picture in the picture section. We say they look grumpy

Thank you Aly you know I would have asked...you are a GEM.
  24. instead of making a necklace you can just lay the spray on the shoulder you would like him to sit on. I would start with 1 shoulder first and then continue on
  25. I can't tell you her good points she is a beautiful budgie. I did fix your link so it would show vs a box with an x.
