  1. I added this post to the FAQ section under General FAQ Is my Budgie English or American this is great to see visual pictures
  2. I have added this to the FAQ Kaz will this method work if you have an adult budgie that is sick and needs to be hand fed?
  3. I added this post in the FAQ for picture purposes under breeding called Signs of a hen in breeding condition, we will add more as a description too
  4. very nice Aly
  5. maybe it is more of a clear cap vs cap where it is a genetic thing where one of the genes is either recessive or dominant? Breeding records and knowing the parents from birth and so on would help prove a theory? plus I believe certain mutations play a part such as the pied gene
  6. I added this to the FAQ and added everyone's information on how they use it if you would not like your name on there let me know. Here is the FAQ for viewing. http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/faqs/i...=158&artlang=en
  7. Nerwen answered his genetic make-up where you posted Yes birds should be covered they need at least 10-12 hours of good nighttime sleep and it helps with shadows which can cause night frights and also keeps drafts off of them when they are sleeping. Most birds when they are covered will squawk at night until you cover them. Mine do.
  8. Use this only if you don't plan of giving them a bath with a squirt bottle because it works wonders. Pretty never liked to be misted with a squirt bottle so I used this method to get him off my curtain rods and stop any naughty behavior. When you see him doing it squirt him and say no (don't scream it of course)...only do this again if you don't plan on using this as a bathing method or for fun.

I agree with Nerwen Another picture of the cere would be wonderful without flash Here is an example of a female and male cere for a recessive pied http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....showtopic=14978
  10. You need to enter the flour shot in the June Budgie contest or one of those shots they are all wonderful. Great pics!!!
  11. Thank you for sharing Sara with us she is such a special budgie to our forums. I love her pictures she reminds me of Pretty whom I lost 3 months ago
  12. Pics of Daz's babies and mine There was a post started about the difference in english vs pet in the post above you will see Merlin's baby picture and Daz also has picture of his babies. I think it is a really good observation and I have noticed it too Norm. Certainly something to keep an eye out for and would love to hear what others have to say too.

  15. Elly replied to the pie's topic in Budgie Pictures
okay I love the POOF on the yellow ones especially the one closest to the camera excellent. Gay budgies what can you do Merlin and Pretty loved each other too.
  16. Norm have you noticed on specific mutations? Pretty my pet store budgie bar lines were very faint and he was a recessive pied. Merlin a dominant pied with just the pied spot bar lines were very faint too, now you would think they would be more prominant. He is part exhibition budgie. I remember Daz and I talking about this before and I have observed what you are noticing too but I am not sure if it is the mutation or the variety.

  21. Elly replied to a post in a topic in Cage Discussion
Both cages are an excellent choice for 2 budgies. One thing you may want to find or I am not sure if you can remove the dome is that you can turn the top of your cage into a playgym if it is flat. I know that Aly aka feathers who removed her dome top and made it flat.
  22. Elly replied to Shann's topic in Budgie Pictures
the first baby looks blue is that correct? Both parents look green - are they actually green and split for blue or is one of the parents a yellow face? Is dad opaline if not then that means your opaline chicks are hens and dad is split for opaline. Didn't know if you knew all that or if you wanted too (Laughing out loud) but just put it out there.
  23. gotcha that is interesting that none are yf's
