  9. I would say have just budgies in your aviary to breed and don't have any tiels in there at all during the breeding season would be best.

they sound super cute, I can't wait to see pictures.
  11. I agree a girl as with the mutation I would need a bit of help Looks like an opaline mauve with the violet gene? A clearwing too since there are no grey or black marking on the wings.
  12. sounds wonderful
  13. are you going with a male or female budgie? Just to point out again do make sure the baby is around 6-8wk mark any breeder that will give you a baby at 2-3wk to handfeed yourself is looking for money and not the best interest of the bird. Many birds are sold before weaned and do die unless they are with a person who is experienced in handfeeding. Look forward to meeting your new budgie friend. .
  14. how adorable, I love wet budgies
  15. I think Bea feeds her birds Harrisions Kaz but I remember her saying it is hard to get? Not sure... I know you can only get it from a vet.
  16. don't worry and stress him out anymore today If his wing patterns are a grey he might be a Yellowface Type 2 full body greywing.
  17. Welcome to our forums. I am very sorry to hear about your first budgie passing away. Pretty passed just about 1 1/2 after we got him it shows how delicate they are even though they are represented as very hardly parrots. If you could get a closer shot of him without the flash that would be easier to see what he is. His wings pattern looks brown on my computer but is it brown or grey? He looks like a type 2 yellow face where he is a blue bird and the yellow from the face bleeds into his wings and body. . Again welcome, and love the name.
  18. good to hear and I do believe not telling people the wrong advice is caring AND responsible
  19. you can go to their website http://www.harrisonsbirdfoods.com/ to ask questions I feed the pellets to Merlin
  20. congrats :budgiedance:
  21. he or she very pretty bird... I am sure that your cousin and her parents will enjoy him for a long time they are such wonderful little companions :budgiedance:
  22. and vs versa vets there are some poor ones out there that clip too. You have to do your research. I think Briony you really need to call around and find out if they clip vet, avian vet or petshop they will let you know. Find out if there is an avian petshop in the area or one that deals with birds on a regular basis. Either way you can find your answers by doing a google but we here on the site don't want to be responsible if something goes wrong with the clip (at least I don't).
  23. I like Humpty personally :budgiedance: glad the little one is doing well. Certainly another miracle in Kaz's avairy.
  24. I don't know about all that but she is right about 1 thing budgies are very territiorial and can become nasty (especially if you intro any type of colony breeding). It has been suggested by many here never to mix budgies in an aviary situation and never in a regular cage with any other species because of their territorial attitude. If you have not had an issue then I would not worry but always keep a look out for a possible issue in the aviary.
  25. The first thing you should have done is quarantine your new bird from the existing bird to ensure he was not ill or carrying any illness that could be passed on. 30 days is recommended for quarantine. The next thing when you introduce new budgies is to gradually introduce them over a period of a couple days where they met but are not housed together to ensure there are no territorial issues like you are having now. To ask you a couple questions. 1. How big is the cage? 2. What is the sex of all 3 birds? 3. Are they fighting over any particular item or another bird? 4. How old are all 3 birds and how long have you had each one?
