Your welcome keep us updated just a side note all budgies can bite male or female...Merlin went through a biting stage when he was molting and hormonal he finally stopped but ignoring it is KEY he still will nibble but if he takes a good bite I just ignore him or take him off my hand and then try again.

My favorites are anything in the blue series I just love the different shades of blues and the grays..with yellow faces :hap:.

His molt coming through plus he was flirting with his balls :fear: so he was puffed up too making noises at them :hap: Bec he doesn't even play with anything else but those balls and if I take them out he looks depressed but he doesn't protect them so as long as he is a good boy he can have all the plastic balls he wants .

Do you think he was in his fluffy settle down stage? He does have 1 foot up like they do when they get settled? Usually if they are not feeling well they don't stand on 1 foot right? Just wondering if that was why he was like that? But you have a better eye then I do on these things Kaz.

Then in that case, I am going to stick with slate (Laughing out loud) as the added coloring factor at this point. I think maybe the only way you will know is to bred him with certain other mutations too see if you can pull out the genetics on this one. Whatever he is he is gorgeous, did you send the e-mail that Kaz suggested to for an answer?

Add a picture of my late budgie Pretty in memory of him, he passed away this month March 15th to be exact. He was such a character.

Sunflower seeds are great and a wonderful treat they are very fattening so give them as a treat only. If you live in a region that you can grow sunflowers and then dry them that is excellent just don't treat with pesticides or insectides.

You will see the link for the Budgie of the Month there is a sub-link under budgie pics. If he was born in Oct he is a male for sure :hap:, the cere would have changed to a more tannish, brown if Gumpy was a hen.
