  1. Some birds have blue feet you will find them more on some mutations, you won't find them on recessive pieds & inos etc... Oh my how did the little guy get bitten by the dog? , I hope he is okay!!! AV nice birds they remind me of Merlin .
  2. they are cute, too hard to tell the gender because the cere shots are blurry, if you take a close up (marco) setting with your camera without flash in the natural bright light we could give you some possibilities
  3. I don't have first hand experience but here are some ways you can prevent have further clutches. 1. you can addle the eggs and replace them with fake eggs as she lays them, if you remove the eggs she is laying and not replacing then she will continue to lay. Which means addle them immediately and add a fake egg don't wait until she is finished laying. 2. You can decrease daylight hours if they are in a cage by keeping them covered at least 12-14 hours for night time this will throw them back out of a breeding cycle. 3. Make sure you don't have the pair by running water as that increases mating behavior too. As to remove the cock, I am not sure on that as it could cause the hen stress as she would be calling to him. I will leave that to the experts.

nice looking birds :hap:, Merlin takes pictures like that when I take them straight you can't see his eyes either :hap:
  8. no problem, blindness is not a disability my dad was blind and the most accurate and smart of the bunch of our family :hap:, the nice thing about animals is that they live in the now and it is what it is to them, he just needs to hear a warning, I would also have music on all day for him quietly I do that for Merlin because if I don't he is quieter too, quiet means danger and noise means everything is okay, so try a radio and then just shut it off at night :hap:/
  9. wouldn't a necropsy help you figure out what caused this? I know you said it would be too late to save them but it wouldn't be too late to find out what caused it instead of guessing? :hap:
  10. good news :hap:

  19. most shop flowers are sprayed with different chemicals to keep them looking fresh and bug free the best thing you can do is buy your own or chose organic foods from the grocery store.
  20. so is this a typical storm or what ...I asked above and didn't get an answer
  21. Gray factor is a color-adding factor. If a budgie has a grey factor, the color grey is added to the budgie's original body color. The grey factor is very strong and overrides the underlying color. Normal yellow-based budgies with a grey factor will be a grey-green color. Normal white-based budgies with a grey factor will be a grey color. Basic Genetics: Grey factor - dominant Normal - recessive The above means that birds can not be split for grey they either have it or they don't since it is a dominant gene
  22. awe maybe , are you having a necropsy done on 1 of the birds?
  23. Oh wow....are you having a storm or more of a storn...what is the weather predication?
  24. it would be interesting to let them rest of course after the clutch and match them again, not that you would get a grey again but if it is a recessive gene you would have a 25% chance, and here is the luck with that both my kids have blue eyes and Tim and I don't LOL so anything is possible because that is a 25% chance too.
