Scaly Face..?
Actually before I saw everyone's YF statement that is the same thing I thiought you can see the blue where her feathers start to strip plus there looks like a fade of yellow into the chest, I was actually going to ask for a full shot of the bird .

Feather Cyst
I hope that Smudge makes it through okay. Everyone has different thoughts on raising budgies and I see your son has learned a very valuable lesson "the gift of life" and though we all see it in a different perspective I wish more people would give it a higher value then there would be less homeless pets including budgies. Instead of just asking out right for money if he could have a little fund raiser that would be better I think. I think out right asking for money on the net or to people you don't know makes everything look skeptical (but that is me). Like a lemonade stand, a little sale of toys he doesn't use anymore etc....

Big Bud's Trip To The Vet
I have been reading this and I remember when I took Merlin to the vet he really promoted a pellet diet but after much research I realized that just all pellets is not good either their food really needs to be balanced. Too much protein isn't too either and that is what a lot of the pellet diets are. Harrison is supposed to be the best out there but you can only get it at the avian vet and in some countries it is very expensive. I found that my boys didn't touch them at all I had to crush up the pellets and even doing that they would eat around the seed with the method you mentioned. The best I could do to get them to eat the pellets is to sprinkle it on their greens like I did with the seed when I tried to teach them to eat greens. Here is an FAQ article from our nutritional section http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/faqs/i...&artlang=en, I agree the U.S vets do push the pellets I don't know why but when you read the information it does make you nod your head and say yes yes yes but then when you really read about it on your own you realize it may not be best to be on a all pellet diet. It is recommended 30% be pellet that is all, you had a ratio of 70% I think that is too much. I really respect my avian vet too but I also respect the view of those on this forum so they made me really look deeper into it instead of just taking my avian vets word .

Yellowface Greys
Yes there are Yellow Face 2 Greys, I was looking through the Mutation Pictures of our Members and 1 person had it but the picture is now broken, when the yellow goes into the grey it does make it a greyish green coloring because as you know grey on a white based bird is really a blue bird in genetics.

Taming Gucci And Dolce
I love taming journals it really helps give other ideas and show how to go about it, I though birdluv was awesome too with Hobbs and Claire

What Are They?
They are a nice addition Olives have dark blue/purple cheek patches and black-blue tails. Grey-greens have silver grey patches and black tails. This is the difference. I agree Kaz and the others said about the mutation .

Just Wondering?
Violet Opaline Cock x Albino Hen Hens will be opaline 100% blue chicks If double factor Violet you will have a 100% of Single Factor Violets If single factor Violet you will have a 50% of Single Factor Violets male chicks will be split for albino but will not express the gene the only way you will have albino chicks is if the male is split for ino Of course there are always surprises too with sex-linked genes that the cock could be carrying and any recessive genes that both birds are carrying.

Younger Budgie With Older Budgie
they will call for each other for probably a couple weeks and then once they know that you and your parents are the new companion they will settle in.

How Cold Is Too Cold!
I agree with Liv here, I let Merlin chose his bath and then he knows what is best. They don't need a bath every week or even every month they really know when.

Zoo Pictures 2008
Thank you SW I wasn't sure what they were. I thought the same thing Sunnie but they sing when they do their howling thing instead of howling unlike regular dogs, but when they look up at you they have more of the Shib Inu face then the Dingo face.

All My Rehomed Or Rescued Little Ones
Very lovey, this would be something I would do would be to take in the misfits or the unwanted if I had the space , they are a beautiful bunch of budgies...hats off to you.

Younger Budgie With Older Budgie
I would work on taming together once they have bonded to another budgie separating them in the same house is only going to cause stress and anxiety because he will hear the hen and call for her. It may take a while for the hen to trust you but you have to be patient, it is also very frustrating when you think you got 2 young birds and instead you may have gotten an older hen but it is what it is with any one (pet shop or breeder) they are not always very honest. I have written up a taming article on how I tamed Pretty a pet store budgie and Merlin who was handled at a young age in the FAQ you may want to read it over. Have patience it took me 9 months to gain Pretty's trust.

How Cold Is Too Cold!
Well I think nothing under 70F degrees personally, but I find that budgies will bath when they want to at least mine do .

Sick
Yes, I believe you can put them in the same cage it would probably be less stressful then separated. Click here to search for an avian vet in the area. Some avian vets are not always listed so if you find an avian vet by you but not close you can call them and ask if they know of anyone closer to your area. This link can be used for all countries. It is important that you find an avian vet before your bird (s) become sick. When birds become sick they go downhill very quickly and if you don't have an avian vet that you know of you will go into panic mode. Be prepared! It may save your birds life. Sick
I would take the birds that have these symptoms and put them in a hospital cage. Runny poos at this point could be related to all of the above that you mentioned. The best thing you can do is get them to an avian vet ASAP & put them in a hospital cage until you can get them there. Here is how to make up a hospital cage in a jif http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/faqs/i...&artlang=en. Again, I encourage you to call an avian vet ASAP.
