It was in regards to your comment as my own opinion, I see a lot of people run off and get another budgie and then regret it because they have 2 untamed budgies, it was not in regards that what you did was right or wrong (yours was an opinion just as mine was) but what could happen if she decided to take your advice which is not either right or wrong but an opinion like myself . Everyone has to do what they feel is right for their budgies but again I wanted to post what the results are if she did decided to get another budgie . That is all

I would not put in a perch for travel but a secure terry cloth towel that is tight so no nails get stuck it is too hard for birds to perch when they are traveling if they chose to perch they can hang on to the sides. I agree with AV, it is not the turbulance but more of the moving around of the cage and such, if they fly and freak out they could hurt their wings on the perch, best to have it open and they can walk on the bottom. The towel can always be washed after the trip and if you put seed on the towel for food it will stick in it vs sliding around.

You can tell when budgies are over heated when the are pantin and their wings are spread, if they have water and can find some shade they will be find their wild cousins live in a very hot climate with little or no water and fly for days, so they should be okay. It is okay to vent, but Kaz is right on her points made above. hugs

It took me 9 months for Pretty to come around, each bird is an individual some tame with a snap of the finger and others it takes time but if you really want a companion bringing another bird in the mix can be a mistake because when you do they will tend to ignore your efforts even more. So before you get another bird if you ever do you have to think about the pros and cons.

Well if there is no nesting boxes, can't you just let him have his fun? Kaz probably would know best.

The RSCPA believes if there is food, water and no dead animals then it is suitable, I have walked into a number of petshops that I would have closed down but they find sutiable.
