  1. my first thoughts were feather duster baby too... Love him heaps, he might not be with you for very long
  2. Just wait till they start trying to feed you HAHAAA.. Ive personally never had such well fed fingers since owning budgies :(Laughing out loud):
  3. How old are the little ones? If they are not getting enough food (check the crop to see if its full) you may need to handfeed them a little also.. Any hand feeding i do is done with a spoon and if you cant get any hand rearing mix, a human infant cereal mix is a good substitute (i've at times used Farex 4+months Baby Rice) If the parents are being aggressive to the little ones you need to remove them right away.. If they are eating seed by themselves, make sure they have acess to some still so they can practice eating on their own.
  4. INDEED
  5. Ive never even heard of Harrisons Pellets

For some people this works but then for others it ends up really badly.. You will need to consider their own personal needs and make sure they have enough space.. Lot's of people will advise against it and if it was inside in a little cage id say id have to advise against it also but cant see why you cant have the new addition in a separate cage and come out for FULLY SUPERVISED playtime with the budgies.. You know the nature of the birds you already have and you will need to take that into consideration. Inside i have my 3 Budgies, Gypsy the Lorikeet and also Baby my little Honeyeater.. Baby and the budgies get on great and also Gypsy and the Budgies are best of friends (my budgies are very tolerant) and out in the aviary the budgies are living with Horse the dove and they all get along great (horse just seems to be one of the gang out there)... If you are going to do it, be ULTRA prepared to have a second cage ready just incase it doesn't work out and make sure you fully supervise them to make sure there are no injurys or even deaths from the mixing.. Good luck
  12. good to see you back again.. hugs to you and your hubby and well wishes for a super speedy recovery..
  13. Good Job Lovey Riebie you are a lucky duck.. I live way to far away from anyone to even offer looking after there birdies for them *sigh
  14. Lucky you did take him to the vets... Glad its been sorted out and hes on the road to recovery, keep us posted on how he goes.. Um also not to sound to morbid but photos may be good just so we can see for ourselves just incase we should ever come across it

:dbb1: Hello and Welcome.. What your budgie is doing is perfectly normal behaviour, hes excited thinking he has a new playmate :(Laughing out loud): One of my budgies (Mig) is ALWAYS at the mirror i put out on the floor for him, chatting away, head bobbing, tapping his beak on the mirror and running backwards as if hes trying to moonwalk If what hes doing bothers you at all, maybe change it with another toy to keep him occupied Cheers  Una
