  1. Don't worry you guys. I did ask to have him compared to a show bird. I was thinking more of the american ones but I didn't want anyone to be soft. He is an american budgie, so they do have different standards to the english show budgies. I was wondering. Does anyone ever show american budgies? What is a hinge tail? His tail looked straight in all the pictures.
  2. Heheh I love it I don't get the last one
  3. Yaaaaaay! he is GORGEOUS.
  4. You ahould try enticing him on to your hand with millet. Go to Terri's site www.budgietalk.com It has some very good information

Maybe you could try marking her eggs when they are laid and transfer them to another nest.
  10. Don't blame yourself Feathers. It's not your fault.
  11. I really want to keep at least one. BUt I'll see how the next lot of babies turns out.
  12. I didn't expect him to be a showbird. I knew he wouldn't stack up. That's good though. I was really quite curious. Tee hee. Because I haven't been to a show before, I don't really know what they look like or how they are judged. I tried looking at some standards, but found it a bit hard to tell how they worked quite. I like to read how dogs are judged in show rings you see. Does he have any good points? (Laughing out loud)
  13. I'm just curious. He is a pet budgie, so he isn't buff or anything. But I'm curious how he would rank and what criticisms you have for him. Please contribute. I am very interested. Note: I tried to get a good picture of him in a good pose, but the camera is playing up again and photobucket is going a bit mad. Anyway. thankyou. This is a good one to see him face on: At the moment he has 3 neck spots on each side. These are some old far away ones, but they give you an idea of his stance. Thankyou very much. It'll give you judges some practise. :budgiedance: Yay! Photobucket, became sane again. Camera is still evil though. but I got some pictures of him in his pose. He is also a bit fluffy due to fatherly duties. He was a bit grumpy too, all he wanted to do was go and flirt, but mean mummy kept putting him back on the perch.
  14. Here are some new photos of Izzy and Saffron's babies and a few more I got this evening. Here is the family. Pa, ma and ba: Babies flying out: I actually got a flight picture Not exactly in the centre of the shot, but.. oh well. And one of Arkady: While they were out the babies finally discovered a bath I had left out for them: This is the little cinnamon girl and this is her actual colour. This is baby number two and he is going to live with my brother. His cere is a little mangled after he flew into a window, twice! He doesn't learn. Then he decided that my finger might make a good snack. Then they had a preen and a sleep: Some pics of the other budgies: Isis coming out of her nestbox: Izzy striking the most gorgeous pose. And Flirting through the bars with Arkady A father and son moment: "Dad why is the sky blue?" "Well son..." I hope you enjoy. :budgiedance:
  15. No I don't think so. She will be six next year. But she is a very good mum and has had no problems since. So I will not be too worried if she decides to have babies with telling me again. (Laughing out loud)
  16. It means that your baby is a dominant pied.

Anyone have an answer to this?
  23. Yes that is why I asked. It looks very much like a girl. Even girls are known to mount other birds. I'm sure if you try to breed him/her you will find out for sure. :ausb:
