  1. That is a spangle that appears to have normal wing markings but the clear spangle tail.
  2. Could be a cinnamon. I would absolutely love a recessive pied. ooooo. Oooh yes, Phoebe. I have 3 babies who are now 8 weeks old from Saffron and Izzy's first clutch. 2 babies who are 2 and a half weeks old from Isis and Arkady and 2 babies each 1 day old fostered to Isis and Arkady from Saffron and Izzy's 2nd clutch. Gave one of the first babies to my brother, so now I have 6 babies total.

    Yeah
  4. Saffy had completely abandoned the nest. What do you think the purple eyes could mean?

I had to candle mine to find out which ones were fertile, so I could foster them out. But I didn't candle the first clutch.
  6. Ooh .I didn't see the tail. She has really thick spangle markings and quite a dark head. Perhaps she is melanistic spangle. ?
  7. It's sad when that happens. At least the 6th baby has got parents to look after it.
  8. In the end the parents started feeding them outside the box. I put them back in at night, to find that another baby had hatched that day! The babies all went to sleep and I woke up this morning to take the older babies out and I put them back out. But Arkady started biting them. I had no choice, but to put them back in the nest box and hope for the best for the other two babies. I just checked on them then and they are great! The funny thing about the third baby, apart from the fact that it hatched on the same day as the second chick, was that it came from one of the eggs that Saffron abandoned and let go cold. I thought I might as well put them under Isis as they looked fertile anyway and I got a baby! From an egg that was stone cold only 5 days ago.
  9. I used to do that for my mice. I would fill their cages with fresh branches and make it like a forest.
  10. So now I'm confused. I thought in another post, that DF yellowface twos actually looked yellowface, but were more mottled. And that yellowface type 1s only went white when they were DF. . confusion.
  11. It doesn't look like a spangle to me.
  12. Arkady isn't feeding the older ones. So I thought maybe one of my other budgies might. Stupid idea. Saffy bit one on the head and now it is bleeding. It has clotted. So I put the poor little babies inside with their mummy, so thay can get some food and then I will take them out again.

Those are really strict requirements. What is the hand hole? Is it so it can be carried? I found it very interesting that the drinker had to be in a very specific place. And howcome the floor can only be made of seed? I mean they eat it, but why can't sand or paper be used? Lots of questions.

It sounds male. Do you have a picture?
  15. What a little rebel. (Laughing out loud)
  16. I love those puffy cheeks in the last picture. Simply squishable. <squishes>
  17. Good size for flying in.
  18. Gorgeous pictures. :ausb:
  19. Name: Itha Sex: Female Other mutations: Spangle yellowface type 2 I think I might keep her. She is a real character, hence the name, which means Pearl in Indonesian
  20. Feather's Flight! Feathered Friendz Feather's coop hehe Aly's Aeyre <-- Is that how you spell it. It is supposed to be a place in the rock cliffs where eagles make nests. Aeere eere Aerie, I think. I couldn't find the dictionary. :ausb:
  21. Maybe you can name him after an Australian sports star. Unfortunately I don't know many. Only Shane Warne and Ian Thorpe. :ausb: Or an Australian team. I dunno. Call him ROVE,
  22. You would get half yellow faced babies and half white faced babies. Chai is only a single factor yellowface.
  23. He seems more parroty then the pet budgies. like his beak sticks out more like other parrots. I like that, I think it is cool. :ausb:
  24. Yay. It has purple eyes too. They aren't black like the last baby and they aren't red like a lutino. They are purple. What does that mean? I just hope it manages to survive the night. The bigger babies don't move so much during the night. I handfed it before and he lapped it right up. He is quite lively.
  25. Well I have done what I did last time and have taken the older babies out of a nest box and put them in another box just outside the nestbox in the cage. Hopefully dad will feed them. I'll put them back in the nest at night time and bring them out again the next day, until the newest baby is strong enough to stand up to being squished.
