  1. I don't have any kids, so I can't offer you any advice. hehe, but I do want to offer you my best wishes and I hope everything works out and that the OB has a talking to his secretaries. Good luck Girl!
  2. Yeah, just leave them there anyway, you never know!
  3. They don't look fertile to me. See how the light sort of shines through them giving them a reddish hue in the shadow. A fertile egg does not let any light through and looks solid and opaque. But it always depends on the lighting. Your chicky is looking sweet. HIs tummy looks like that, because their skin is so thin that you can see their guts through it.
  4. The whole family is cute! Your little boy, your dog and the ratties! Rats make awesome pets. I used to have some and one of them was the most loving pet I've ever had, 2nd only to my cat. They are real people animals always looking forward to coming out and playing.
  5. Haha. That was very cute. I like how Kiwi walked all over the camera. She is a sweety and loves being with you.
  6. I'd say that it was too high on the body for it to be peritonitis. Peritonitis would not be seen over the sternum as that area is surrounded by bone and can not expand. It is probably a lipoma or feather cyst or something. Birds with egg peritonitis look like they have egg bum.
  7. Yes Oushi your head does look big, but very cute and fluffy. Great photos
  8. Yes just leave them there. They can hatch up to a week late.
  9. Yes yes more pics! (sorry Trish) I don't know if they laid them off yet (I am bad at keeping up with news)
  10. With the car exhaust, I wouldn't want to be the one opening up the crawl space after you have pumped it full of exhaust, to remove the bodies, as you might find yourself to be a victim as well  Put the cat up there instead! (without the exhaust lol) Maybe call an exterminator? Smoke them out! lol
  11. That is quite a neat trick there MB. Will the mesh be okay in the water though? Couldn't it potentially leach chemicals like zinc into the water? (Man I'm sounding like a broken record with poison stuff lately  )
  12. They are looking wonderful Trish and very cute too. I'm glad your daughter had a good time at the Christmas lights. Jimmy B, I like Australia because of all its awesome animals (there are lizards everywhere!) and you have huge as shopping centres (hehe oh and the fact you can have pet snakes), but I still prefer home, we are very laid-back, friendly people and I like that. Also we can have pet bunnies and chinchillas, I didn't see any in Queensland
  13. That's awesome to hear about the crop being full and baby number 2!But I'm really sorry to hear out the dad escaping. Keep an eye out for him he may come back. you never know. Put an empty cage outside with seed in it and the door open next to the hen's cage and he may come for food. Put up some flyers too just in case. Why can't you keep them inside?
  14. Goodie. So then you should really only feed eucalypts to Aussies then? lol Sorry I misread your post. I don't really feel comfortable with feeding eucalypts to non-aussie animals, but that could just be a suspicion that I've had from childhood.
  15. No I don't. But that's cool. They just use eucalyptus oil to kill insects and such, so I was not sure. And I remember being told it was poisonous as a kid, so I have always remained suspicious of it. And I remember reading somewhere that koala's are so lethargic because of all the toxins in the eucalyptus tree leaves that they eat. I know it sounds stupid, but I thought maybe australian birds would be able to eat it, because they evolved with it and have the right enzymes to deal with it or something and because some species of birds are able to eat berries and things that would kill us. Like birds can eat some weird stuff that mammals can't eat. I wouldn't give eucalyptus to my chinchilla. That makes me feel better then. I remember Daz had some birds that died after eating dried eucalyptus leaves though. We have a heap of eucalyptus trees on our farm. I love making play gyms for the budgies with the branches. Sometimes we get kookaburras and sulphur crested cockatoos staying in them too, and heaps of rosellas. Sounds normal until you remember where I am.
  16. But I mean, is it safe for them? Could they be getting minimally poisoned each time??? I don't know. Isn't Eucalyptus oil poisonous?
  17. Go for every 3 as that part of the article seems more detailed.
  18. Oh that's unfortunate about the corella. Your other one is a cutey though. Can non-australian animals have australian native plants? Because they always go on about eucalypts being less than ideal for animals to eat. Go for poplar or apple tree branches they are good for non-australian animals.
  19. And then you have some neighbours that go completely the other way. We've had our neighbours claim to the SPCA that our sheep were lying down too much. They also complained that our dog was sleeping under our caravan (we had just moved onto the property and were living in the caravan ourselves and she had a kennel, but she chose not to use it). They also complained she barked too much, but that was actually the other neighbours, who keep a border collie in a small yard all day (no wonder it barks), whereas ours had 10acres to wonder around on and very rarely barked. And they also complained that our horse had no water, because she was stretching over the fence drinking from the neighbour's trough. The horse was just too lazy to walk to the other end of the paddock where our trough was. We also have a huge pond on our property visible to the road, so I just don't know about these people. Each time the SPCA responds though and it's always the same guy (I feel sorry for him, he's really nice). He used to come out to our property for the first few times, found nothing wrong (eg chased the sheep and couldn't catch them), so now he just rings us instead. I have my suspicions as to who it is. They have two doberman things that they used to let run on the street and would have minimal grass in their front paddock for their large numbers of calves.

That is such a gorgeous picture.
  21. *waves hello to the boys* Haven't seen you in a while, you all look so stunning!
  22. Oh Trish that is horrible to hear about your daughter. I hope she is okay. Best wishes from us any way. The cage is quite large. I expected it to be tiny or something. Show us your corella!
  23. That's awesome. Next try them on some dandelion leaves, mine love dandelion.
  24. I really don't know. To be honest I would leave it there as it might be stressful on the mother. Hopefully someone else will be on and be able to help you.
  25. What has happened since?
