She is a sky blue double factor Dominant Pied and he is a sky violet cinnamon opaline

Their babies will be %100 dominant pieds.

Hens Cinnamon Opalines, and normal males split to cinnamon and opaline

Colours will be Sky blue or maybe violet

Are still doing nothing and i am considering aborting their attempt as he has started to moult and she got her leg caught in between one of the cage doors and spent god knows how long hanging upside down during the night : - i found her this morning and put her in the hospital cage for the day. her leg had a little blood, but seems in one piece. She scared me to death seing her hanging like that :

Lady has the HUUUUUUGE poos now, I have everything crossed she will take good care of eggs and chicks.... good thing i have 3 other foster parents to choose from just in case

 

My Yellow DF spangle is still fine this morning. She mustn't have been stuck for too long. She has a small graze on her leg, but otherwise fine. Her mate is moulting though so bye bye nest box

As for the moulting boy, I was just reading that they also go through an unfertile stage when they are moulting so it just means that when he comes out of it, if she is in season wait the 11 to 14 day period then pop him back in as he should be ready and raring to go.

It is really exciting and the weather felt like it was going to blow our roof off this morning I love extreme weather! The bird room shuts tight so they have been dry and warm (unlike me who has had to run erinds all day )

 

Now I am just waiting on Lady to lay as i got an Egg from this pair today :nest:

Lady (below) laid her first egg off the perch during the night

It has a small section of shell missing, but the membrane is still intact - can it be fostered/fixed??

How do i teach her to lay in the box???
