You're so lucky! Wish i could find a giant wrongly marked cage, (Laughing out loud)! :bluebudgie:
  2. Isn't it special being so bonded with a budgie. I love when Blinkie preens me.
  3. All my pets have weird 'problems'. Blinkie humps his perch and flirts with the most ridiculous things (toes, fingers, carrots, etc) while Mickey (my jack russell) humps feet and his blanket. All the aviary budgies put on a 'charming' display whenever guests go out to say hello too. :dbb1:

Who needs lawn mowers anyway! :(Laughing out loud): That's amazing how much she liked it!!
  5. I didn't let him touch them, (Laughing out loud), i was scared they'd kill him. He was held in a vice grip so he couldn't preen and then rinsed in warm water under the tap. :(Laughing out loud): Then he was wrapped in a little cloth and dried....then he could preen!

Your budgies are STUNNING!! Are they all tame?

You have the most BEAUTIFUL birds! :dbb1: I've never seen such a gorgeous flock. I especially like the third picture, the tiel in the middle looks like he's preaching to everyone else! :(Laughing out loud):
  8. OMG!! I'm so glad i only have boys inside. Don't think i could cope with Blinkie laying an egg. :(Laughing out loud): .....if he were female that is!!
  9. Patty's such a meany!!! :(Laughing out loud): Lucky she's so GORGEOUS!
  10. Yeah i did, but my friend and family were around me laughing (and Blinkie too) so once i was sure he wasn't going to drop dead i was laughing too. I think it was a good bonding experience for us. I saved him and gave him cuddles and dried him off. He sat on my knee for about 45mins which is the longest he's ever stayed on me. :dbb1:
  11. I've always clipped pet budgies once for taming and then let the flights grow out. While clipping may prove safer for learning about windows and mirrors i discovered last night it can also be dangerous. Last night i had Ozzie and Blinkie sitting with me while i was walking around the house and i went through the kitchen to help mum with something and Ozzie fluttered off, and landing in the washing up water. It's a good thing the water hed been sitting a while otherwise i could've had a boiled budgie. I had to wash him off to get rid of all the bubbles, poor baby. :dbb1:
  12. Nope, nothing will diguise the 'humping rope'. I've rearranged Blinkie's cage sooooo many times and he always finds something to hold onto so he can hump his perch. When i removed the rope he started humping other stuff. :(Laughing out loud):
  13. She's a he, (Laughing out loud). :hap: Very cute!

    :hap: I love them both!!
  15. Well isn't that what Blinks is doing already too poor Oz preening is feathers out of place  (Laughing out loud)!! I suppose so! But Ozzie's all sleek and smooth again, he had an unplanned bath last night. He was sitting on my finger and he fluttered into the washing up water. :hap: Luckily it had been sitting for a while and wasn't too hot but he came out all bubbley, so i had to rinse him off, he was SATURATED!! Poor baby.
  16. No budgie could ever look sexier than Blinkie! If they did he would have to pull their feathers out and poo on their head to ruin their appearance!
  17. Well i always make it cooler than usual but it can be quite warm. Our shower head is kinda pathetic so they don't get blasted and i have that little mirror perch and a swing for them to sit on out of the spray but Blinkie likes flying back and forth to my shoulder anyway.

I got 2 more videos of them playing with the hair tie. One of me and Blinkie having a tug-o-war with it and another of Ozzie tangled up in it and trying to preen it off while Blinkie tries to steal it.

    He's so cute! :bluebudgie:
  21. Thanks! :bluebudgie:
  22. It's endive, the new favourite around here.
  23. Mum's nearly completely blind. Before she got Buffy she'd been using a white cane for AGES, she was trying to get over her hate of dogs and her denial of her need for a guide dog. She's much more confident since she's had Buffy (which is amazing cause she was SUPER confident even before!).
  24. This morning both Blinkie and Ozzie joined my in the shower, they were so excited. Blinkie wondering what's wrong with Ozzie's feathers. :hap: My babies sitting happily on my finger, Blinkie had just tried to shake the water off his tail which is why he looks like he has a peacock tail. And this was taken after Blinkie had dried and i just LOVE it, i think it's a beautiful photo. I put the camera on the vivid colour setting (which makes colours more intense) and this was the result.
