War Of The Millet ~and~ The Swing
Here's a couple more movies i've made in Windows Movie Maker. This was filmed in my aviary earlier and shows a terrific war over who should have the right to eat all the millet: This second movie was filmed at Ozzie's cage, highly amusing footage of Ozzie redesigning his swing: Enjoy!

Why Would He Do This
Excited... I have no idea what he could be doing. Could be feeding her the wrong way around....i guess that makes the most sense but why would he do that?

Molting
I think budgies kept indoors can moult almost non-stop or very frequently because the temperature is pretty stable.

Care Sheets!
Does he have access to the internet? If he does then you can send him to Terri's site: www.budgietalk.com and tell him to join here. If not....hmm, making up a care sheet would be a pretty tricky task. It's something i want to do if i ever sell any budgies. You would need to put cage sizes, feeding tips, toys ideas, how to recognise illness, how often to clean the cage, etc. I'm sure other people will come along with more ideas.

New Pics Of My Boys
Here's some photos of Blinkie and Ozzie which i took today, i missed the camera so much the past week (dad took it to Sydney, he only took 10 photos all week!) so i went a bit camera crazy today. A special treat of brocolli, it's been really expensive so they've had to put up with carrots and snow pea sprouts mostly this week! Didn't your mummy teach you not to talk with your beak full? Brocolli beak! Munching away. Ozzie hanging out on dad's shoulder, he won't sit on MY shoulder! Lord of the speaker. Blinkie: Hey! That was my speaker first! Give it back! Ozzie: Make me. Mwahaha, i shall eat the speaker! See how clever and cute i can be? Zooom Weeeeeeeee Incoming! Blinkie: I can boss you around whenever i feel like it! We'll see about that! CHAAAAAARGE!!! That's right, fear the Oz-man! And here's a little movie i made in Movie Maker this morning:

A Very Silly Question!
Glad we could all help! I'm a worry wart too when it comes to my budgies so i know how you must be feeling. I worry about the tiniest things.

A Very Silly Question!
Here's a photo of a 3 week old budgie: I'm guessing though that Monte looks a little more like this in the way of feathered-ness: The second photo is a 7 week old baby. A baby younger than 6 weeks old probably wouldn't know how to eat on it's own yet and would starve without hand feeding.

At Last!
Fantastic cages!! I'm so jealous!

A Very Silly Question!
Does he have all his feathers? If he doesn't he is waaay too young to be away from his parents. A baby budgie isn't ready to leave it's parents until it's 6-8 weeks old. I was told when i got my first budgie that she was only 3 weeks old too but i'm now guessing she was about 8 weeks. He will sleep on a perch or swing if you have one and he'll probably tuck his head by his wings. Don't worry if he clings onto the cage bars though, like Cheeky said. I've always given my budgies tap water but if you live in an area where you need to boil water for yourself to drink you'll also have to boil water for your budgie. I can't wait to see photos of the little cutie!

Looking For A New Cage
Yeah, that's why i like it too! The second one is the same but twice as high, don't know how useful the extra height would be.

Hi!
I'm sorry, i had to laugh at some of those behaviours! Stitch certainly seems to be full of personality! The biting sounds pretty normal, most budgies will bite from time to time and the nibbling is a bit like preening. It's affectionate. The chewing, well that's also a budgie thing! Right this second my two are chewing away, Blinkie at my necklace and Ozzie at the blinds. The obsesive compulsive is a bit peculiar. Blinkie will throw those jingly balls off the side of his gym and loves trying to unhook toys in his cage but he doesn't get picky about it and try to remove everything, hopefully someone else will have some more helpful advice. I think the talking to anything and everything is a single male budgie thing. I had Blinkie on his own for a year and he flirts with/talks to absolutely EVERYTHING, it's quite embarrassing actually when he flirts with fingers, toes, carrots, spoons, shadows, bells, etc. You can change his cage around once a week to try to stop that, by changing his cage around he'll be kept more occupied. "Flybys", fun aren't they. My Blinkie does this all the time and as far as i can figuire there's not a huge amount you can do to stop it. I'm working on clicker training him to hopefully make him more obedient. You can read about clicker training in the Budgie Behaviour forum. Hopefully this has helped answer some questions. Welcome to the forums by the way!

Looking For A New Cage
Oh yeah....that looks....um....practical. I've been keeping an eye on these two even though i don't think i'd be allowed to get another bird cage. I think they're pretty good. I really have my heart set on the first one, i've wanted one ever since eterri got them! : http://cgi.ebay.com.au/BIRD-CAGE-FOR-SALE-...1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com.au/BIRD-CAGE-FOR-SALE-...1QQcmdZViewItem

Some Boris Pics
Aw! She looks so sad in the last pics. :fear Give her lots of kisses to make her feel better. Blinkie just finished losing a truckload of feathers and has a pinny forehead so he's not too happy either. :(Laughing out loud):

How Long To Finger Train?
One thing i will say is don't compare tameness to Cheeky. I know when my baby Tweets died i compared my second budgie to her and as a result couldn't tame him. Just spend lots and lots of time with Oscar, talk to him loads, get him used to your hands. I'm sure he'll be a playful little guy in no time. :fear
