Runny Poos
There were no runny poos until last night, and that was under Ozzie's perch. Blinkie is still normal. Will watch to see if there's any more during the day. They only get 1tsp of pellets to their 2tsp of seed, and then they get their veggies too. I would say that i supplement their diet with pellets, rather than they're on a pelleted diet.

Show Birds Versus Wild Type Or Pet Type Birds:
I do believe we've had a discussion much like this before, but i'm not sure where it is. I think it would depend on the owners/breeders/enthusiasts opinion of health and what a budgie should be. To my knowledge, show type budgies don't have as long a life span as our little pet type ones. To me, longevity (is that the right word) would be high up on the list of what makes a healthy bird. You also want to consider hardiness. If any bird gets sick from the tiniest change in their environment, i wouldn't say that's a healthy trait. However i have no knowledge of whether this happens more in show birds than pet birds or vica versa.

Worried About Scooter
Personally i would go to the vet. Do you weigh him? If so has he lost any weight lately?

Abnormal Sleeping Position?
How totally bizarre. Tucking their head behind their wing is the NORMAL sleeping position for a budgie (and many other birds too). I would be worried if they never did that. My guys sleep on one foot with their head tucked back (cuuute ). They nap on one foot with their head sitting normally and yes, they peek out. They're just keeping an eye on their surroundings.

Runny Poos
Well i'll try a slightly earlier bed time tonight and i'll tell Tim to leave them covered until i wake up. Last night there were no runny poos. The only thing i did different was let them tuck into some millet on the playgym before bed.

Runny Poos
Do you think putting them to bed earlier would help?? At the moment they probably get 9-10 hours sleep each day, i could easily make that 10-11 hours by covering them a little earlier and uncovering them a little later! Might try that tomorrow actually, maybe they've got too much hormones for their own good and the little flirty boys have too much sexual energy for one cage.

Black i believe, he's still a baby so can't answer the iris ring yet.

Runny Poos
To be honest it's usually Blinks who's upset by Oz. Mr Ozzie has taken over the role of mega flirt and is always head bopping stuff (including Blinkie) - i think it really upsets Blinkie that he's being outdone. Having said that, Blinks is no less flirty and sexy, right now he's been turned on by the sight of a tape measure (don't ask) and he's chatting everything in sight up. It's a shame these flirty boys can't co-exist within a cage the way they do out of one.

Runny Poos
Watching them on the playgym they've only done normal poos. If nothing changes tomorrow i'll try separating them again. If when i do that, the runny poos disappear, i guess we know it's stress related. How sad if they can't live together happily!

Runny Poos
They eat Harrisons, organic and supposedly one of the best out there. They've been eating Harrisons for several months now, at least since december last year.

Runny Poos
Not really, but i notice that Ozzie will often be very pushy with Blinks and head bop and tower over him. Blinkie really doesn't like this and gets all sulky. Then it happens in reverse, Blink will be mating with something and then try to murder Ozzie. Last night before bed i noticed Blinkie having a massive drink. I'll watch again tonight and see if he does it again.

Runny Poos
Well they've been on the same diet for ages, including when they were separate. And before i put them back together, both were doing normal poos. It's only since i put them back together that the runny poos have started again. They do bicker a bit, especially when Blinkie is busy humping something and Ozzie gets too near. I only clipped him last night, it was happening since i put them back together on saturday or sunday night.

Runny Poos
Well as some of you will remember about a month ago Blink or Oz were doing runny poos. I took them to the vet where i was told to separate them and give them probiotics for 10 days. I did that. Both of them were doing normal poos. Out of laziness i kept them separate until last weekend. After one night together one or both are doing runny poos again. Like last time, it's not all runny poos and when i watch, they do normal poos. Neither of their weights are down. I'm SO confused!!! Both seem to be behaving normally, and they're both definitely eating and drinking. I don't want to get dad to take me out to the vet again only to be told "for sick budgies they look extremely healthy", but i would like to know what the heck is going on here! I've put worming treatment in their water tonight to see if that makes a difference, if it doesn't then i'll separate them AGAIN to see who's doing it. I bet that i'll separate them and both will do normal poos. Perhaps they stress each other out when they're together?

Helping Someone Out
I believe it's a pet shop budgie. DFS with grey suffusion would work. I don't think the owner is planning to breed from it, so i guess there's no way to tell for sure?

Helping Someone Out
I always thought whitewing (clearwing) was a type of dilute, so you couldn't have a dilute whitewing. I also thought that clearwings had strong body colour...or is that just a type of clearwing?

Helping Someone Out
It's just a baby so still has the pinky purple cere of a baby boy. I think the purpley colour of the cere means it will eventually change to blue. From what the owner told me the colour is body colour and can be seen all the time.

Helping Someone Out
I'm helping someone on another forum here. With his permission i'll post a picture of one of his budgies and hopefully someone here can tell me what mutation it is so i can pass it back to him! http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a334/nil.../Picture160.jpg

Mr Sexy Blinks
He has to put up at me calling him a pudgie budgie almost every day. I love his squidgy little tum. Blinkie thinks it's very funny that he is "sexy" and Oz is "pudgie". :(Laughing out loud):

Mr Sexy Blinks
Here's some photos of my gorgeous Mr Blinkie, looking just as sexy as ever....feeling just as sexy as ever too apparently, i can hear him mating with his perch behind my back. *yawn* Watcha lookin' at? Are you thinking about how sexy i am? I bet you are! With my fluffy little head feathers. And cutsie pie poses What? You don't think that makes me look sexy?? Impossible *sobs* Don't worry Blinks, i think you're super sexy! Even when you're being cheeky and trying to make perch babies! Here's a couple of pics of Oz too, he didn't want to be left out!
